Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Oh nooooo @Mellmars1185! Maybe that will change? Hopefully?
lol @nuinui933! This was a really nice one - and that's coming from someone who is not typically a fan of mud sheet masks. There are 4 other varieties and they look good, especially the 2 newest additions to the line.
I looked it up on google after your post and decided on the green and pink masks. A couple of my housemates may pick up the other colors.
@nuinui933, when you get to using them, let us know what you think of them. Our skin types are different, but it would be good to hear how you find them. I suspect you use clay masks more often than I do and I'll be curious to get your take on these.
@itsfi Okay.. this was quite an interesting review for me! I've been weary of the clay sheet masks as well. I found that while I was glad to have tried them... Mud masks just made more sense in a tub. I found in the past they just didn't lay well to form to the contours of my face. Mayyyyybe I should try a few more before I solidify my 'not for me' opinion?
Now.... Lets talk about this WLDKAT sleeping mask that both you and @Shosh85 have deemed worthy of a full size purchase? Where might one find this brand? I'm going to need to add this to my Dior Houndstooth mission for the weekend.
@missjeanie, yeaaahhh, I was rather surprised when I saw this mask in my drawer. I mean, I remembered picking it up when I went through my masks but I was surprised that I actually purchased a mud sheet mask. Not even sure what went through my mind when I did pick it up, but in light of the results, I'm happy I talked myself into purchasing it. ๐ Do you remember which mud sheet masks you've tried before?
Hahaha! I chuckled at your 'not for me' category for sheet masks. I feel like I've sorta changed my tune (emphasis on the "sorta") from a hard "not for me" on a couple of different types of mask in the last six months or so. Let's go with 'not for me' masks but put an asteriks at the end of it? That seems like it would provide some flexibility. ๐คฃ
@Shosh85 and I picked up the WLDKAT. sleeping mask as a gwp promo at Ulta (I winced when I wrote that because I know their plans to open stores in Canada is delayed and I remembered your points may be expiring soon). Utla carries the full size and a travel size, the latter of which is pretty generously portioned. You can also find WLDKAT at Credo Beauty in store and online, but I'm not sure whether they ship internationally. I included some swatches of the sleeping mask in the spoiler. Sorry, should have included it in the original post.
WLDKAT. Sleeping Mask Swatches:
@itsfi I'm trying to think of the mud sheet mask I used... I want to say it had a little character on it that may have looked like a South Park character? on top of the envelope, with a green or maybe pink background? All that to say I don't remember, but may recognize it if I were to see it lol. I think even though I'm in a 'use it up' mode, I've discovered which kind of masks really tickle me... I like softer sheets or bio gel, and I like moisturizing/hydrating formulas for the most part, toss in some snail juice and I'm a happy gal. But... I do think going back and keeping a few different things in the stash is fun and handy at times when my skin decides to rebel from it's normal dry state. I'm now promising to give a mud sheet mask another go. Maybe not right away... but at some point.
I went down a little rabbit hole last night pondering the WLDKAT. Credo doesn't deliver to Canada, and yes... so sad on the Ulta front. Though that lead me down the news articles to find that I can cross into the US since I'm fully vaccinated, I just need to get a PCR test done in the US and then return to Canada within 24 hours of both taking the test and getting the results. Sounds like in my area there are a few places that will do the PCR, just can't guarantee timing. Then.... I can't go into work for at least two weeks. The tricky part would be timing it out so that I could stay in the US and get tests done but cross at a time based on those results. Points expire March 31.... so I may or may not try to time it out yet. But back to the mask... turns out ASOS UK has it and does ship to Canada. I've never ordered from them before... but I mean... last week I'd never online ordered from Gucci or Chanel either! Need to peruse their other brands to see if I want to make it a worthwhile order! I figure if you guys love it... I might need to try it!
@missjeanie, now I'm going to be thinking about which mud sheet mask you tried. I should refresh my memory of South Park characters. Hahaha! I've not ordered from ASOS UK, but I have ordered from the US site. That was years ago and I don't recall any issues. Looks like the US site also carries WLDKAT. and ships to Canada too? Hmmm.... okay, okay, not enabling, not enabling. ๐ฌ
@itsfi Oh at this point no enabling needed... just time. I'll end up with it... just gotta see which sites are the least hoops to jump though for customs lol
Okay... did a google search and found the mask... maybe it doesn't look like a South Park character. lol
@missjeanie, oh yes, I have tried that line of mud masks - that green one and the black one. I Think they worked for some folks but for me, they were just "meh".
@itsfi Oh, this sounds like a wonderful mud sheet mask! I think the best mud sheet mask I've ever tried was from Bath & Body Works - mostly because it smelled like chocolate ๐ซ ๐ Of course it's discontinued though ๐
That WLDKAT sleeping mask has become a favorite of mine too - will definitely be buying the full size soon! Glad to hear you've enjoyed it as well ๐
@Shosh85, it checked off so many boxes for sheet masks in general - soft, thin, gauze-material; I like that it's 2 pieces and it's a mud mask that wasn't drying on the dry parts of my face. โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ I thought the line only included this green mud mask and a white mud mask (in yellow package), but it turns out there are 5 - those two along with a black mud one (red packaging) make up the original lineup, which means these have been around for a while if they have an "original" set of varieties, and 2 new and milder versions, an aqua blue one and a calamine pink version. Who knew?!! Clearly, not I. ๐ I thought the original masks were new masks from a new brand. Note to self: Self, up your game! ๐
A chocolate scented sheet mask ... ahhhh!!! That would be fantastic; so, yes, of course, it would be discontinued. Of. course. B&BW's approach to sheet masks is, or maybe it's more accurate to say, was, puzzling. Every sheet mask they put out was limited edition. But, I don't remember if they advertised them as such. I only learned of them from you and then, they sold out like ... poof!
Oh yes, the WLDKAT sleeping mask has been a find! My supply of "fave sleeping masks" is growing at a more rapid pace than I anticipated. In my quest for a more manageable skincare collection, I'm going to have put in some extra effort to make sure it doesn't grow too fast, too soon. Or just doesn't grow too much period. ๐
@itsfi Sounds like a great line of masks to try! Will definitely have to keep these in mind when I'm off my no-buy ๐ Are you planning on picking up the other masks in this line?
@Shosh85, I've been looking through the ingredients lists for the other masks and it looks like the the newer ones have more "variety" to their INCI list and I'm interested in seeing what a more "mild" version will be like, so for now, I'm planning on picking up the aqua blue and calamine pink ones. I say that now but watch, I'll pick up all 4 of them if I find them. Hahaha! I was trying to pinpoint where I picked up this green version and it seems like I might have been at a local boutique. It's located in a plaza that I could conveniently pass by on may way home from work if I were to take a certain route home so ... ๐ I'll try to do that next week since I'm on a sheet mask 'no buy' beginning next month.
@itsfi Great reviews! I actually did not know there is such thing as mud sheet masks. Eye opening! Glad that you had a good experience and thanks for the tips of using on combo skin!
@Mellmars1185, thank you! I learned about mud sheet masks much later into my sheet mask days and have only tried a handful, maybe half a dozen. They can be messy, and some brands are more dry than others. This is probably my favorite of all the ones I've used. Patchology also makes a good one, I recall.
โB is for Blue, used this lil gem the other night
Fit? Great. It had a mesh sort of backing to help you maneuver the very thin mask on your face
Smell? Faint but clean/perfumey
Consistency?serum was clear & on the thicker side. Wouldn't call it gel but I didn't have any troubles with it dripping
Ease of use?awesome. I used this when I was in bed & had it on for the recommended 20 min. Couldve went longer it was so saturated. I put it on my neck after to continue to work its magic
Would I purchase/try again
? It left my face feeling soft & nicely hydrated. I think this would be a good one to use during all seasons for me & my oily skin, if I need to balance out my face. For others, it may be not quite as special but I REALLY enjoyed this one. ๐๐๐๐๐
This one sounds lovely, @sonnydee! I'm glad to hear it worked out nicely for you.
@sonnydee I really enjoyed this one too! I have dry skin and it worked well for me - though, it was summertime when I tried it. Now that wintertime has pretty much hit here, I'll have to pull one out soon and see how it does. ๐ Happy to hear it's a winner for you!
