Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!
This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐ฎ
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Sounds like a good one @Shosh85 - I love honey masks too!
@Kim888 It was really great! I'm definitely a sucker for anything honey! ๐๐ฏ
This one looks and sounds good @Shosh85! The ingredients list on this one is wonderful and I love that propolis is so high up on it. ๐๐ฏ
@itsfi Me too! I love that the list is fairly short as well! ๐
Completely agree @Shosh85! There are less than 20 ingredients, always a plus. Added fragrance isnโt great but not a deal breaker by itself, at least for me.
@Shosh85 love what you said!! Pretty much the case if it smells like honey ๐
@lmaster Yup, honey is the best! ๐ฏ Can't resist a good honey mask! ๐
Um...kind of cheating with the letter for the week here, but H for "Help Me???"
This is called DrPacker Shaking Protein Soothing. You mix up a Hydro (another H) Boosting Ampoule with a Calming Gel, shake it in the included jar, and it mixes to become a cream. Then you wear it for 20 minutes and peel it off (it's supposed to be a rubbery texture). Has anyone tried this before? It didn't really want to spread evenly on my face, and it never dried down to a rubbery texture. It remained a paste consistency, so there was definitely no way to peel it off. It also felt kind of irritating on my skin, so I didn't look as happy as the lady on the packaging. This one didn't really work for me.
@PrettyPaint Darn. Such a bummer it didnโt dry down properly. I wonder why ๐ค
@ather That's a mystery why it didn't dry down. I wonder if it could have been old? It was from ulta and on sale...perhaps old stock?
This one looks like quite the little science experiment, @PrettyPaint. I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out though. Hopefully the irritation didn't last long!
@quspork It definitely seemed like a science experiment. Fortunately there were no long term negative effects! ๐
Oh no, @PrettyPaint! I remember seeing this. I am sorry that it didnโt work out; modeling masks should be easier and make your skin feel better than this.
@eshoe Yeah, I don't think I really enjoy modeling masks or peel-off masks for the most part.
@PrettyPaint, I'm sorry this one didn't work out for you. This reminds me of the creepy baby face masks, aka Dr. Jart+ Shake & Shotโข Rubber Masks Hydro, but with better packaging. hahaha! I would have picked up this Dr Packer one as well, even though I'm not typically a fan of molding masks. I'm usually able to apply it on my face, but never smoothly.
@itsfi I always have a difficult time applying modeling masks to my face...I'm not so sure why. This one was tricky in particular, though. The consistency just wasn't right.
@PrettyPaint I've used similar, I've never been one that liked to mix it up myself, it just never seems to get the correct consistency, too bad because this one looks pretty cool if it would of worked!!
@lmaster Haha...That makes me feel better. I didn't think it was user error because I followed the directions.
This week and last week's masking, the hubs and I went with some of the Fresh masks from this mini set that I picked up to sample. Most of these are left on for 5 minutes are less, which is really great. We used the firming one for "F" week and the umbrian clay and rose face masks for 5 minutes each for "5 minutes and under". Maybe a "G" too this week for the masks being good ones. ๐
@missy94612 Canโt go wrong with Fresh masks!!! I love that your hubs likes to mask too!
Fresh does make some great masks, @missy94612! I really enjoy the rose one.
