ARCHIVE - 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Please continue posting on the Q4 Thread which can be found here:

Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

NEW Q4 THREAD IS UP! Hoping this will alleviate some of the posting pain we are all feeling. I have not been able to respond to tags, my apologies. Please continue posting on the new thread below 🙂

RE: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Biorace Pore purifying spirulina and tea tree clay mask. I likely got this in an Ipsy bag, but I don’t remember. Found it in a box of stuff. It works very well. My skin was very even toned, clear, and soft after it dried and I washed it off. So so soft. If I come across this again I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase.

Re: RE: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Never tried the clay face mask but I'm guessing it's rlly good.

Re: RE: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I've never tried anything from Biorace before, but now I am totally intrigued @Weetart🙂

@Weetart I received a biorace product before and loved it...

@Weetart I received a biorace product before and loved it too,,I know I did receive it in a sub box,,, probably ipsy 😆

Re: RE: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh this one sounds nice. @Weetart

Re: RE: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

This sounds like a nice option for cleaning out pores, @Weetart.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I've been having issues with logging on and posting/replying, so I'll be playing a little catch-up – but here is the mask from yesterday......

O is for OmegaEE754211-2AAE-4361-B58C-938A25B6588A.jpeg

By Nature Avocado Omega Boost 2-in-1 Sheet Mask

This is a two step mask. For the first step I rubbed in the cold pressed avocado oil and waited until it absorbed - which took about 15 minutes. The oil felt nice on my dry skin. It didn't have much of a scent, sort of like vegetable oil with a hint of avocado. The second step was the sheet mask. It's cotton, about thin-medium thickness and was saturated with serum. The scent on this one is a little strange and kinda hard to describe - maybe like a mix of aloe, which hazel and avocado? It wasn't either bad or good, just strange/meh. It was light though, and not too noticeable while the mask was on. The fit was ok - a little too wide at the temples/ears and slightly too long at the chin. The mask was comfortable to wear and adhered well, except for the extra length at the chin that kept popping up. I kept it on for about a half hour. I rinsed my face with warm water after removing as the instructions direct. My face looked a little brighter had a bit of bounce to it and my skin was SO soft and smooth. It also left me feeling a little dry, but nothing to make run to place moisturizer immediately. It's funny, with these wash off sheet masks my face feels better before rinsing. It's tempting to just leave it, but I assume there's a reason they ask you to rinse..... wouldn't want to risk getting a break out.

This was a nice one and would use it again if it fell into my lap, but probably wouldn't repurchase. Just not wowing and the rinsing off part isn't my favorite.

RE: Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I really like the sound of this mask, and I’m with you on the wash-off aspect of it. When I first started sheet masking I thought it was the final step of a skincare routine, so I just removed it and went to sleep. I only rinsed it off when a mask was way too sticky for my liking, but like you said-there must be a reason for it🤷🏻‍♀️

Re: RE: Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  It just seems weird to rinse after a sheet mask and kinda feels like all the good stuff (nutrients, vitamins, etc) are all just getting washed off..... but what do I know? 🤷‍♀️

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 I have had so many issues the past few weeks (posting multiple times and then disappearing ) that I dont know what to do 😞

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@m3rc3d3s  Sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues too! It sounds like we're not alone. I started having issues a while back and have had to find tricks to get logged in/post/reply. One of these days maybe everything will finally work normally.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

You're not alone on the sign in/posting issues, @Shosh85. Every time I even went to heart a post yesterday, the page would get stuck and just start spinning and refreshing... so annoying!

Too bad this one wasn't a little more wowing- the avocado looks so yummy and inviting!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@quspork  I haven't been able to sign in the normal way for a long time and have to figure out tricks to get around it. It's super annoying, but so far it's working 😉

This mask was decent enough, but I'm starting to think that maybe my skin doesn't like wash off sheet masks. No bad reactions, they just always seem to be a little drying with not very impressive results. 🤷‍♀️

what is going on?? @Shosh85 so many have been having issu...

what is going on?? @Shosh85 so many have been having issues!! glad to see you are back on, this looks like awesome packaging, too bad it doesn't make you jump online 😆

Re: what is going on?? @Shosh85 so many have been having issu...

@lmaster  The packaging on this one is what drew me in 😉🥑

I haven't been having problems with this thread specifically, just the whole site in general. I think I figured out a way around it though 😉

Re: what is going on?? @Shosh85 so many have been having issu...

I have been having an ongoing issue for about 6 months,,, before when I would get tagged and it would appear in my email, I could open it up and reply with no problems,, now I'll have to open Sephora up through my browser, then go back to the email and it will let be reply,, so strange @Shosh85 and a pain in the rear! But at least we figured ways around it 🙌

Re: what is going on?? @Shosh85 so many have been having issu...

@lmaster  I've had problems before too and learned a way around it then. Then after awhile that way started not to work, so I had to figure out another way around. I haven't been able to log on "normally" for quite sometime 🤔🤨🙁

Re: what is going on?? @Shosh85 so many have been having issu...

@Shosh85 how frustrating!! I hope it gets fixed soon 🙄

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I wish this brand kept making masks.  These are so nice. This mask- generously sized and actually fit to the end of my nose!  Stayed on, brightened up my skin, pore care- pores seemed tighter.  My skin did seem calm. Results lasted this morning. Serum soaked in and left no tackiness.   It was so nice. No noticable scent. This would make a nice morning mask, if they were still around.20191009_220135.jpg
