I guess you can't win them all. I just know I really hated my box.
The sizes were so small, and then that micellar water. If I want a micellar water it's not going to be sephora brand-ever. After my experience with Lashcraft making my lashes fall out, no thanks to anything Sephora brand. What is is about my profile that makes you think I want to brighten my pale olive skin? I already have Skindinavia primer spray but to be fair I bought it from them since its cheaper. And the undereye thing is a maybe, but honestly I'm 38 not in my 50's...... I wish they would use your buying profile to see what you might be more interested in. Never buy eye creams or brighteners. The perfume sample was probably larger than the Sunday Riley or IT cosmetics amount lol. Pretty sure maybe I'm just at the point where I just know what I want, and I just need to go in and get samples if I want something to check out. I would have loved the CoverFx or the Becca or Even the Dr. Brandt, but this makes me think I should just save the $10 a month and put it towards full size products.
Please continue playdates with a friend (allowing them to also get a box), is a fantastic idea since it is more fun to bring someone along and, they get their own products to play with. I would like to see the addition of a section to our profile that allows us to identify our scent preferences. I love the bonus scent sample we receive in our boxes. However, there are more misses than hits and adding a section to our profile area would increase the likelihood of more hits. I have to echo some of the same sentiments as others with regard to receiving what appear to be "leftover" samples. (e.g. I used points to get the Dr. Brandt kit and I believe some of those components were sent out in boxes. I also get duplicates of the Sephora red lip stain (this reminds me of the same basic rose lipstick Estee Lauder used to put in their huge Holiday makeup kits years ago). There are only so many of the same shade you need, variety is the spice of life. I see others receive Hourglass products etc. I have yet to receive any Hourglass, Dior, YSL products but have a lifetime supply of dry shampoo samples that I will not use. (correction, I used too much product in my hair as I was out about to leave for work and one of the samples fixed the issue by absorbing a lot of excess oil). I received my first foundation sample today and I read another person say they were tired of receiving foundation samples. So perhaps add an area to our profile where we can provide our interests in different categories (this is in addition to primary concerns). If the profile could be fleshed out a little more to provide additional options/items of interest, that would be beneficial to Sephora and us. We receive more things in line with what we would like to try and Sephora has more potential revenue opportunities from us rather than subscription cancellations.
I got box 743, and am very pleased with everything I received. The foundation matched me pretty well. I loved that you guys included a note to feed the cat before leaving the house in the play book. 😂
*Hi
Him is the Urban Decay a bonus item?because I received an email indicating what's in my box and that was excluded. And does everyone receive a different scent?
Hi, I believe every different box number contains a different fragrance. As for the Urban Decay, I'm unaware of it being a bonus item.
Ok thank you!! Will just have to be content with my box.
That's unfortunate!! I didn't receive that..I received a setting powder for bare minerals instead and no Urban Decay product either. Wondering how the boxes work!

This month was ok. I had changed my profile skin tone from "fair" to "light" and the foundation I received was a few shades too dark so that was my fault. I'm changing it back to "fair". I like setting sprays but I avoid products with certain kinds of alcohol so I couldn't use the tarte sample. The dr. Brandt sample is nice but I just got a full sized one in my boxycharm this month! The products I liked were the Urban Decay illuminating primer, the Makeup Forever serum and, surprisingly, the Tory Burch "bel azure" perfume sample. It's very nice! I gave the three I didn't like away to friends so at least someone will use them. I stay subscribed to Play! because every couple months or so they hit it out of the park with an amazing box. This wasn't one of those months but it was decent. I agree with other subscribers that it would be nice if we could review the individual products so that over time our boxes become more personalized and more to our tastes. I would also like to see at least one makeup product each month. Skin care is nice but hello, this is Sephora!! We shop here for makeup!! I don't think I've ever received an eyeshadow sample (except for a liquid eyeshadow which I don't like). I'd also like to see more blush, highlighters, lip liners, etc. Please no more dark eyeliners! And I'm ok with perfume samples just not every single month (but those who are allergic should be able to opt out entirely).
Plan to use everything in the box (except the perfume because of my asthma). Just three items on my wish list: 1. An eyeshadow, blush, or lip product in every box even if it is themed for skin care or something else. I sub to a beauty box for a color cosmetic. 2. A way (maybe through an option on my profile) to get a cruelty free ONLY box each month. Sephora has such a HUGE selection of cruelty free brands that it shouldn't be too hard to have a cruelty free box. 3. A way to skip the perfume because of my asthma. I have never had it spill in the box but I really enjoyed having a hair mask sample in the perfume's place last month.
I agree! I would like to see more actual makeup in my Play! box. Looking back at the past six months of boxes there were only two months where at least half of the products were real makeup (lip products, cheek products, liners, etc). The rest of the boxes had one or no makeup. I didn't count mascara or foundation/tinted moisturizer as I don't consider them "fun" makeup although they are appreciated.
