That shift on the purple jelly is very cool @RGbrown! And what a great compliment to the Zoya orange pixie dust polish. I took a look at my Pixie dust polishes and decided that I need more. The mac and cheese chic of Beatrix is speaking to me. 🧡

I've been making a Pixie-push with my last few Zoya orders...it's about time I collect 'em all 😮🤣 (ok, not quite all, I don't think I'll get many of the "Ultra" ones, I find those to be just glitter bombs, not the sandy Pixie texture of the originals. Not that I'm opposed to glitter bombs at all, of course...I'm just in the mood for the sandy ones lately!)

Last night I used two tried-and-true polishes and one new-to-me polish. 

DSO is 3 coats; I think everything else is 2 coats. My left hand mirrors my photographed right hand.

Polish notes:

Bluebird Lacquer Double Stuffed Oriole is my favorite flake polish. The black jelly base is very easy to work with and is usually opaque enough for me at 2 coats. I sometimes add a 3rd coat for maximum flakes and opacity. There’s also some holo glitter in the mix for additional pops of color. I know there are dupes and I’ll need one of them if I ever finish this bottle, because DSO was an HHC offering. 

Butter London Empire Red is new to me. In my photo, it’s visible on the left side of my ring finger. Butter calls it poppy red. On me, it’s more tomato… eh, some poppies are this orangey red shade. The pearl finish has a very subtle gold shimmer—or maybe it just seems very subtle to me because it’s outdone by neighboring Amy. 

Also, I THINK that’s 2 coats on that finger? My unphotographed left hand definitely has 2 coats, but I started getting sleepy during all this and I might’ve skipped the second coat on that right ring finger. It doesn’t look as opaque as my orange left-hand nails, or even my right orange thumb. Hmm. 

Zoya Amy is probably my favorite sparkly orange polish. It’s almost a bonfire on nails. If I ever buy a gold-only flake topper, this will be the first polish I layer it with. 

I originally planned to sponge a horizontal ombre on the orange nails (using the same 2 orangey polishes). But I wasn’t in the mood for all the cleanup that’d require—especially using Amy which leaves glitter everywhere—so I decided to do half & half and run a black cream line down the center of each orange nail. Near the end of painting everything, I got sleepy and decided “eh, do the black lines later... just add a top coat for tonight and go to bed.” Later arrived, but the planned black lines didn’t. 😄 Eh, maybe I’ll add ‘em tomorrow.

@itsfi  Zoya Amy paired with Tanzy (the gold-orange sparkly shade) = straight-up fire. But Amy on its own is fun!
