This was my first intro to the brand several years ago, and it was a fantastic way to try them out 💕 The great thing here is that you can leave notes at checkout and tell them what you like (or don't like) and they'll do their best to customize your bag just for you!
Another mismatched skittle mani to work through a bunch at once 😋
I went through my purples a couple of nights ago and sorted them by pink leaning vs blue leaning, and wound up with several deeper burgundy/wine shades that made me go "is it purple or should I move it to my red box?". They work well together, so to save myself from having to answer that question, it's a dark mix on my right hand. From pinky to thumb:
Ciate Paparazzi
The brownest of the bunch, which makes it my least favorite, not because it's bad, I just don't care for the brown stuff. It's a jelly/crelly type, somewhat sheer, and could have used a third coat to cover a couple of sheer-ish spots, but all in all the formula is good. Would look really nice with a topper sandwiched in between, I believe, to take advantage of that sheerness and give it some depth.
Marc Jacobs Plum Fiction
Deep wine/purple shimmer. Has a vein of gold/bronze shimmer running through it that shows up faintly every now and again. Easy two coater, even with a terrible skinny brush.
Cupcake Polish Bloodhound
Not nearly as red-leaning as I expected based on the name, but I'm certainly not disappointed in this gorgeous deep purple holo. Easy two coater, fantastic rainbow.
Orly Opulent Obsession
Deep burgundy wine with less brown than Ciate. Similar crelly formula that could have used a third coat but I just couldn't be bothered last night.
Londontown Lakur Vixen
Gorgeous deep wine shimmer, very close in color to the MJ polish, but without the hint of gold. Super easy two coater, lovely brush.
My left hand got two similar but different OPI shades to compare.
On my thumb and ring finger is OPI Abstract After Dark. It's a dark purple base with blue flakies. It almost fits into that "almost black" category I'm not completely fond of, but the blue really lights it up and keeps it brighter. Easy two coater, and a lovely shade I'm glad I picked up.
The other three fingers are OPI OPI Ink, a slightly lighter purple base with a generous dollop of blue shimmer. This one can also get a berry-leaning-purple shift in certain light, though it seems to be only at more extreme angles. Another easy two coater, a classic I'm glad to have.
