If by awesome, you mean ridiculous, sure 🤭 Sometimes I have a hard time reconciling my collecting habit with my actual usage...even at 3 or 4 polishes a week, it'll take me years to get even one use out of all of these. I love looking at them though, and for the most part, they still bring me joy, so I guess it isn't all bad 💖

Here are my New Year's Nails! It has been a busy week, so I didn't have time for fancy designs or stamping (and honestly, I had no idea what I would have done...inspiration never hit me for special new year's art anyways), but two sparkly shades always steal the show without having to do all that extra work ✨

Black: Morgan Taylor New York State of Mind

Black crelly base with pink and blue glitter, and smaller gold microglitter/large shimmer. Gorgeous as is in the daylight, but I was shocked when at least one of the glitters turned out to be holo as well...I had no idea based on how it looked in the bottle. It needs a bright light to showcase those rainbows, but it's quite the sparkler when it does 🌈 Could have used a second coat of topcoat to fully smooth it out, but eh, I'll be changing this in a day or two anyways, so I likely won't bother fixing that now.

The other color is a mystery polish from Black Dahlia (Mystery 7 per my own super creative naming lol). It's a deep berry/fuchsia crelly loaded with pink/orange flakies, gold shimmer, and holo bar glitter ❣️ Not sure I've ever seen holo glitter in bar format before, but I have to say it's a very fun touch and I am exceedingly ecstatic over it. Unfortunately, this polish's greatest strength is also its greatest weakness...some of the bar glitters wadded up instead of laying flat, and left a few noticeable bumps, like I got a little sand stuck in the polish. I'm all for texture on purpose, I love a good Zoya Pixie Dust, but this isn't that. I came close to trying to file those spots down and add another topcoat last night, but decided I'd rather hang out with my family than spend more time on my nails 😋

A little muted sunlight

I tried my hand at making a gif with video taken under flash. The quality isn't great, the free gif maker I used condensed the crap out of my video and really downgraded the output, but it still gives an idea of the sparkle ✨

Imgflip dot com is the site I used for this one, it's pretty quick and easy, just upload your video and it converts for you. The free version has pretty limited functionality and limits pretty severely how big your file can be...I had to whittle it down from 9 seconds to 5 seconds just to get a halfway decent output, but it wasn't hard to do. I'll have to try a few other sites to see if I can find one that allows for a nicer finished product without forcing me to pay.

New Years Eve nails:

I have 3 polishes from the Julep Zodiac Collection - Gemini, Saggitarius and this one, Libra. At one point, I had aimed to pick them all up but never got around to it before these were sold out / discontinued. Julep Libra is a pinky-silver (or maybe a silvery-pink?) metallic. This is two coats and some dabbing to fill in gaps.
