The Wonderful Westman Atelier!

I figured it would be wise to create a new post about Gucci Westman's new line - Westman Atelier.  It is currently only sold at Barneys, however I imagine it may spread to other locations.

A few days ago I purchased the foundation stick, two of the blush sticks, the contour stick, the highlight compact, and the highlight stick so I will be back with some swatches and reviews!  Also today I got one more foundation stick as I think the one I bought was too dark, however I think I may need to mix regardless, and I can compare to the other foundations I currently own.

There isn't much known about the brand yet other than a few random articles, a couple youtube posts and a few instagram posts about the products, so I'm hoping I can help you out once I receive my items!

If anyone else has something to add, feel free! From what I've heard so far this is a wonderful brand and people are very happy with it.

New LE gloss in Lou Lou. Love the matte lip shade as a stain. Imagine the gloss over it would be terrific and I’m tempted to get it and try it out!

Here is the latest blush duo from this holiday. Fluff/Puff is a very nice neutral that leans cool . It maybe doesn’t come across in the main photo because we had some very gloomy days lol, but is true to the swatches. 😊

They’re finally kinda here!

Refills are USD $34 and, so far, available only at WA’s site. I don’t know if they’ll be available elsewhere. The refills will come with their own little cap. I’m not at home right now, so I can’t check mine (I have shade LFG) to remind myself if the refill works without the case. I’ve pulled it outta the case many times just so I could more easily apply it, but I don’t recall if I have to twist the bullet up/down with the case.

At their site, I see all shades listed in the refill category (all but Je Reve and Petal are marked unavailable). I hope that means they really do plan to make ALL shades refillable. The only thing that’s kept me from buying more shades is the lack of refills: I won’t pay for another one of those cases. Now I just need to wait for a couple more shades to become available as refills. 🫠

@Titian06  Dang it, I forgot to test mine while I was home. 🤦‍♀️ Note to self! 

Usually a flat-bottomed refill won’t work without its case, because it needs the twist insert that’s permafixed inside its case. But depending on the size/shape of the hole on the refill bottom, you can use a fingernail (which I don’t recommend) or just press a fingertip against the hole and twist the bullet that way. Technically the Dries van Noten refills won’t work without a case, but I can twist mine with a fingertip. Since I like the DVN cases, I’ll probably never carry one of those lipsticks without a case anyway. But I might do that with the WA refills, or cobble together an insert that’ll work with those—ooorrr, I wonder if they’ll fit inside a different brand’s refillable case that has a permafixed twist insert thingy. More things for me to explore. 😅
