Reduction of Samples from 3 to 2!?

I'm just going to jump right into this. I am extremely disappointed that Sephora has reduced their samples from 3 to 2. Across the board everything from groceries, clothing, and just about everything you can think of is going up. Sephora by no means is cheap. When us gals/guys spend our hard earned money on high end makeup, we should walk away feeling like we got the most out of our money. This small change in your policy, shows that Sephora is one of those companies that are turning their back on their consumers, and our focused on their gains. Be loyal to your consumers, and your consumers will be loyal to you.

This small change, makes me feel like you guyz don't care about the consumer or that youre cutting corners. Sephora can definitely afford to give consumers that third sample. That's how most of us test to see if we like your product, and determine if we would like to purchase the product.

Please do better. Before you know it, you guyz will be offering 1 sample per purchase, and then it'll be 0.

I find the samples are also lacking. Lots of skincare and not much makeup. I have my skincare routine down so I’d like makeup samples and I never end up selecting anything. If Sephora isn’t caring about customers because of things like this and rewards and price increases I don’t know where I’ll shop. Any advice from Canadians?

Yeah, I'm not so much upset about the number of samples being 2 vs 3, but I would like some more variety. I always see a lot of skincare and foundation samples. I'm kinda okay with the skincare ones so I don't mind them as much, but I have no use for foundation or powder samples. I know what foundation I do and don't like, and what does and doesn't work for me! I'd much prefer a bigger variety of types of products being sampled.

When Sephora was giving 3 samples, many times I wouldn’t get what I selected - which was a waste.  The last few times, including the order I just received today, I got exactly the 2 samples I chose.  I’d rather get the 2 samples I select vs 1 or 2 or sometimes the 3 that would include 1 or more that I have no use for.

I think it’s hard to say that Sephora can afford to give out many samples - we don’t know if they are paying for them or if brands provide them, which might be why they run out.  Of course, providing samples does add to the cost for Sephora employees’ work to select the samples we choose.

I was going to say that also, at least I get what I picked most of the time, and some of them seem bigger/sturdier...but it would be nice to have 3, especially since they had that for so long, that it just seems weird to take away 1, lol.  and as obama knows...you can't give people something and then take it away (without a riot anyway) lol.

L'Occitane is still great for samples. Not for makeup but for skincare cannot beat it. I am so sad about Sephora. I loved it so. It was one of the few nice things to look forward to.

I have been shopping elsewhere more and more due to several poor experiences I have had. I came back to get some more foundation and saw this...and I'm officially done. I've worked on the corporate side of retail for many years and I can see that this is the beginning of the end for Sephora. Look for something else (not Ulta) to take it's place in the next 2-3 years.

credo beauty is good with samples especially in store you can get about 4 samples of anything you want plus pre made samples.

They've also reduced their Ebates cash-back to only 1% during the sale; the lowest it has been in the past was 2.5%.  Shows us how much they really care about their customers.  I've been cutting way back on my spending with Sephora and finding other sources just because it seems that they are regressing in terms of customer service.

I really appreciate what you are saying.  I find this absolutely absurd that Sephora is so cheap that they are reducing the amount of samples!  As it is you can only use your points to "buy" sample size products that you can get for free from some of the retailers directly.  This is ridiculous.  It's almost not worth being rouge here!

same here, rather get nice treats from stores such as Nordstrom or Ulta

I absolutely agree with everything you just said! I order A LOT from Sephora, but honestly have not placed a single order since they changed the samples from 3 to 2. Nordstrom still gives 3 free with ANY beauty order, so I can take my business elsewhere.

I dunno, the use of italics here as though Sephora is, like, chastising OP for being annoyed that customer loyalty programs are being gutted is kind of offputting.
