Is 51 too old to be wearing glitter eyeshadow?

Hi everyone, I’m 51 years old and I love glitter. I use tart sea glass liquid eyeshadow and I love it! I’ve gotten so many compliments about how great it looks but I just want honesty. Thanks

Glitter is great at any age! I love pairing one glitter with matte shadows. I tend to keep it to one glitter/shimmer shadow!

@Anonymous  I say there is no age limit for glitter. If you love it, I think you should wear it at any age you like. Honestly, I've never looked at someone's shadow and deemed it age inappropriate, so I really think this should be the least of your worries. The only time I've ever seen anything about glitter being inappropriate has been in ridiculous magazine articles.

I’m 56 and I’m not too old for glittery eye shadow. I own all the Hourglass scattered lights shadows, a lot of Stila Glitter and glow (and Shimmer and Glow) shadows, and more. I wore the Hourglass to work earlier this week because I like it and it makes me happy. No one seemed to look at me strangely, but they are used to me. Wear it and enjoy!

Well Im fifty and very conscious of it. The last thing I want to do is look desperate or ridiculous ... but I do love glitter eyeshadow and do wear it. I keep it fairly low key in more subtle shades and just on my eye lids.  Im very fond of the Dior Fusion Mono range which is glittery but very finely milled and more of a sparkle than full-on glitter.Also I have a pale grey glittery Tom Ford eyeshadow single that I adore so much I bought two backups of, just in case they stop making it.

I dont think fifty one is too old. If it is then Im right there with you!

desperate for what?  A little sparkle in this grey dreary world?  Anyone who’s opinion is worth anything, should be well aware of the little things that make you smile.  Glitter on!

I'm not quite 51 yet (will be 44 in less than a month), but I can say this with confidence: there are no rules in makeup. If you like glitter, and want to wear glitter, then ROCK that glitter, no matter what age you are. I don't foresee myself giving up the glitter and the bold colors anytime soon either, so don't feel like you're "supposed" to just because you're a certain age. Sparkle on!! ✨✨✨

@Anonymous If you like glitter shadow, wear the heck out of it!  In my opinion wearing glitter isn't a matter of what age you are, but what kind of situation you're in.  If going to a funeral, maybe skip out on a heavy glittery look, but if you're headed out the bars, by all means, have at.  I also tend to thing that how much glitter is applied can make a look 'appropriate' or not.  That being said, make up is such a personal thing and if you want to rock a glitter lid then rock it wherever/whenever you want and be dammed what others think!
