Empties - V2
Seeing product empties is so satisfying 🙂
Post your weekly, monthly, quarterly, whenever-ly empties and let us know how you felt about them!
Previous Empties thread:
Re: Empties - V2
Good to know about the Moroccan oil, @lnum. I envision their shampoo and conditioner as perfect as the oil, but no real first-hand experience here. Good feedback!
Re: Empties - V2
5 stars - loves
4 stars - like a lot, maybe not my fave or overpriced
3 stars - just okay, would use again but not buy
2 stars - meh, but no harmful side effects
1 star - no way
Re: Empties - V2
Great empties @haleyvvvv!!! It's nice to see someone else is not wowed with the PTR Cucumber Mask. Every time someone raves about how great it is, I'm always confused. It's so basic to me. 😆 😂
Re: Empties - V2
It's okay @lmaster!! Not everything is going to be a winner. It is *so* expensive for hardly doing much for my skin; I am glad I got it in that 6 pack and I am glad I tried it. Plus now I am more justified for testing out all hydrating masks, lol.
Re: Empties - V2
August empties - MTD = 86
The lavender scent on the Dewytree It’s Pure Lavender Sheet Mask is perfectly soothing for winding down after a long day.
Peace Out Acne Healing Dots are my favorite acne dots.
AmorePacific Vintage Single Extract Essence (x2) – A spendy love but a love indeed.
I keep Miniso Fragrance Dispenser (Rose) in my car - the subtle and soft rose scent helps to put me in a nice mood when I hope into the car to head to and from work.
The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur Soothing Gauze Sheet Mask is a thin, gauze-like fabric made with a patented lanseal technology that is bouncy, stretchy and squishy all while feeling comfy and cozy. The results too are fab – calming, soothing, nourishing, refreshing and brightening.
Farmskin Strengthening Sheet Mask Blueberry – Farmskin sheet masks continue to impress; this blueberry is my favorite … so far.
Etude House Jewel Beam Gel Mask Twinkling Diamonds – bright, nourished skin help to make this possibly my favorite hydrogel mask. It doesn’t hurt that the mask itself sparkles! 😉
The History of Whoo Moisture Anti-Aging Mask is a fabulous 3-step mask pack. It’s a nice, luxe, at-home treatment to splurge on occasionally.
Dior Lip Glow - 001 Pink – love the subtle tint and sheen this gives me.
Dior Lip Glow Oil - 001 Pink – I received a full size in this shade as gratis and love it. Have since picked up other shades and will continue to do so. It’s hydrating and moisturizing without being goopy or greasy.
Ultru I’m Sorry For My Skin S.O.S. Jelly Mask – Calming is perfect for nights when my skin is extremely parched and in need of something hydrating and soothing.
Biore Nose Strips continue to be my favorite for vacuuming out the gunk in my pores. These are the - Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strip, Deep Cleansing Pore Strip Citrus, and Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strip versions. All good.
WEI Beauty Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask leaves my skin slightly pinky-red that wears off eventually (also helps to apply a hydrating serum before this mask) but the soft, smooth skin I get from using this is worth it enough to me to consider picking up more of these pods after finishing up some more open jars of mask.
WEI Beauty Bee Venom Anti-Wrinkle Cream Mask is such a luxe treat for my skin. I wouldn’t say it’s a must have but it’s definitely one that I would splurge on.
Dior Capture Totale DreamSkin 1-Minute Mask – I was really surprised by how well it performed in a minute. It’s a splurge and I have enough splurges … for now, at least.
I love how refreshed and hydrated my skin looks after 20 minutes of this 2-piece Balea Firming Gold Foil Face Mask. Just wish sheet masks from this German brand were more accessible here.
Tory Burch Tory Burch Eau de Parfum – I was not expecting to like this as much as I do.
Paula's Choice BHA 9 – Oh, where has this been all my life. Or, it’s probably more appropriate to ask, what took me so long to get around to using this? It’s a HG salicylic acid-based spot treatment for me.
Dior J'adore Eau de Parfum has long been a favorite scent of mine. It’s described as a fruity floral but I really just pick up the florals in it.
There's a reason why the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray is a cult classic. It keeps my makeup in place. 😉
I can’t get enough of Inna Organic Frankincense Revitalizing Facial Mask – the material feels so soft and thin, and the slightly herbal, sweet, citrusy and woodsy scent was very calming and soothing. Loved that it soothed some redness and hydrated my skin as well.
I received Kerastase Nutritive 8H Magic Night Serum as gratis last year and recall not liking it too much initially. I have since found how to use it best – just on the length of my hair either the night before or the morning of an early morning when I will likely want to sleep in just a little (and won’t have time to wash my hair), I really do enjoy this product.
Megrythm Gentle Steam Eye Mask (Lavender) – these are staples in my skincare stash. One of my best discoveries . . . ever!
I use Mizon All In One Snail Repair Cream more as a serum. There’s something about it that my skin really likes, especially when it’s acne prone.
Megrythm Gentle Steam Eye Mask (Yuzu) – the yuzu flavor always seems to do the trick when I can’t seem to fall asleep. Very nice for when I have allergies too.
Aveeno Repairing Cica Foot Mask – my new favorite foot mask.
The throw I initially picked up from La Montana Alfredo's Cafe before even opening the box seemed like it might be too overwhelming, but it burns nicely and the different scents, though strong in their own right, really play well together.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Conditioner smells great and I like my smooth, detangled tresses.
The individually wrapped You Smell Like Lemon Hand Wipes are fantastic – great for portability and these have a subtle, fresh, citrusy-lemon scent that is very pleasant – not at all overwhelming and does not make me think of cleaning products.
I really like Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vitamin C Glow Powder - great for travel, in my gym bag, and at work for days when I may need an afternoon refresher.
Not only is the packaging adorable on the Urban Doll Kiss Urban City Azulene Aquaring Mask, with its retro Hollywoo glam feel, but the mask itself does a nice job of infusing some much needed hydration and moisture to my skin.
Cutex Care Nail Polish Remover Pads (x3) - Zoya makes my favorite nail remover but these come in handy when I'm traveling (or when I traveled). I also tend to keep a box around the house as a checkpoint - if I'm reaching for these, it's time to restock on my Zoya nail polish remover if one isn't already on its way.
Mediheal is a trusted sheet mask brand for me; I wouldn't say the Mediheal N.M.F. Intensive Hydrating Mask is a favorite, but my dehydrated skin considers it a reliable mask and that’s sometimes all I need.
CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patch were my first foray into acne dots / patches. Although not my #1 favorite, I do like these and will pick up a packet if I find it on sale. My preference for other pimple patches is largely due to the CosRx ones having a tendency to be a bit gummy and on the thicker side.
Tarte Maracuja Oil is great for moisturizing my skin without making it feel or look greasy.
The creamy, milky, gel-serum in this microfiber JayJun Anti-Dust Whitening Mask is a dream for infusing some moisture to drier skin. This was part of a 3-step mask pack. If only JayJun sold the sheet mask separately . . .
Holika Holika Aloe 92% Fresh Moisturizing Shower Gel is light and refreshing on warm weather days.
Bio-cellulose masks are great after a peel and The Face Shop Bio-Cell Brightening Face Mask is one I like as it contains glutathione, known for its brightening properties.
Neutrogena Radiance Boost Brightening 100% Hydrogel Mask – Hydrogels are hit and miss for me; this one is a hit and a nice drugstore find.
Spongelle Body Wash Infused Buffer (Freesia Pear) - I like these Spongelle buffs; this one just didn't smell like how I would expect it to. It wasn't bad, just not what I hoped for.
VT Cica + Care Spot Patch - these are fine; I would use them if I had them lying around, but I wouldn't seek it out, as there are other acne patches I prefer.
Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream – this is one of those eye creams that makes me think about consistently incorporating an eye cream into my routine. It’s an unscented, non-greasy cream that seems to plump up and brighten my eye area, at least temporarily.
Dior Hydra Life Glow Better - Fresh Jelly Mask – the apricot seed kernels in this peel-scrub are finely milled making for a gentle exfoliating mask. There’s a clean citrusy scent to it that is quite pleasant and not at all overpowering. It’s a spendy exfoliating mask, though one I might consider if I didn’t have a handful of similar masks that I like the same if not more.
I'm not sure about Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Shampoo – it smells great but it leaves my hair too soft and as a result it looks and feels more flat than it already is.
Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist was one of the first mists I’ve ever used. Liked it then, like it now.
The Creme Shop Roses Are Red, Violet Are Blue Fusion Sheet Mask is a lovely mask; it’s just that I have a lot of lovely masks already.
Oh K! Revitalizing Black Sesame Hydrogel Mask – what I like most about this mask is that it has a unique ingredient – black sesame – that reminds me of my childhood - my grandma would make black sesame rolls, along with other sweet treats. Interestingly, I don’t have any memories of actually eating them, just seeing a tray of them in the refrigerator. I also vividly remember being told to close the refrigerator door because there was nothing in there for me if I didn’t eat my dinner. LOL!
Milk Makeup Flex Foundation – love the convenience of these sticks. Staying power isn’t so great in the warmer months – the foundation breaks and wears off fairly quickly when I’m outside.
VERB Hydrating Shampoo was just alright for me; it did a nice enough job, but wasn’t a standout.
VERB Hydrating Conditioner is the preferred product of the shampoo and conditioner. It’s one that I’d be more inclined to say ‘yes’ to than ‘no’ but it’s not one I’d rush out to pick up. Makes my hair soft and good at detangling.
Aveeno Repairing Cica Hand Mask was nice; it was just overshadowed by its foot mask counterpart.
JayJun Anti-Dust Luster Ampule is the first step of a 3-step mask system. The slightly viscous, pearlescent gel absorbed easily and left my skin bouncy with a slight tacky-to-the-touch feel.
Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum is nice; I just think I need more time with it (and more product) to see if it lives up to its claims. Fortunately for me, I do have a larger DS that I plan to put to the test soon.
I like that the Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate is lightweight and absorbs easily. It’s lightly hydrating; a serum that I wouldn’t mind using, but not one I consider a must have.
Together Beauty Love Lather Moisture Shampoo – I’m beginning to think the shampoo’s from this brand are not well suited for my hair. I’m not sure I had a enough product to give it a fair shake.
The consistency on the Together Beauty Day Dreamer Daily Conditioner feels thin to me, maybe a little too thin for a conditioner, but it’s nice as a leave-in product
The Crème Shop Holiday Cheer and Clear “Naughty” Clarifying Face Mask is nice, but not a standout. My skin does look and feel soothed and hydrated but not so well that I think it’s better than another clarifying sheet mask, particularly the Cica Mend mask from the brand.
Innisfree Double Fit Lifting Mask Firming + Nourishing surprised me. I liked that it’s 2 pieces. I’m not usually fond of masks where the bottom portion has ear loops. The bottom portion here is a hydrogel material against the skin with a cotton material facing outward. It didn’t pinch or hurt my ears, but I also didn’t feel like it did any tightening, firming or lifting of my chin / jaw.
WEI Beauty Brown Sugar Ready Glow Exfoliating Mask is fine, I just have quite a few exfoliating masks already that I like and this one wasn’t standout enough to make me bump one of the ones I already have from its place on my shelf.
BeautySoClean Cosmetic Sanitizer Mist – good for sanitizing my makeup.
Pacifica Hawaiian Banana Lip Balm smells good and the packaging is very pretty. It was a very thoughtful gift from a kind soul and has some sentimental value to me.
Tatcha Radiant Deep Brightening Serum – this is a luxe serum. It is Tatcha after all. I like it, but I think there are others that I prefer over this one.
Paula's Choice Omega+ Complex Moisturizer with Chia + Flaxseed is a rich but not heavy or greasy moisturizer. I think I used this at the wrong time. It seems like it would be more useful in the cooler seasons.
Oh K! Antioxidant Coffee Bean Hydrogel Mask isn’t bad. I just think there are better coffee masks out there, though I am appreciative of the coffee sent on this one.
I like how Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Parfum starts off, but there's something about the dry down that doesn’t quite work for me. I think it may be the particular mix of the patchouli with the particular fruit scents in this one. I much prefer GA Si Passione.
The Creme Shop Overnight Gel Mask (Collagen) - the texture reminds me a bit of Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask. TCS mask has a scent that, while not necessarily unpleasant, is not one that agrees with me - the initial coconut scent is fine but it turns into something less pleasant that I can't pinpoint but know it's not something that my nose likes.
It saddens me to feel ‘meh’ about boo Bamboo Pore Refining Bamboo Fiber Charcoal Sheet Mask. I love the charcoal sheet mask material but this particular varietal didn’t seem to live up to its pore-refining claims.
Secret Nature Soothing Aloe Mask Sheet is a fine, not bad, but not standout either.
WelleCo The Super Elixir sounded promising but I didn't feel like it did anything and I didn't care for the clumps.
It was interesting having an eye cream as part of a 3-step mask back but the Step 3 JayJun Anti-Dust Eyes Under Correct was too thick for my undereye area.
Dior Hydra Life Jelly Sleeping Mask is wonderfully scented and the consistency and hydration it provides make for a last step in an evening skincare routine, but I have more than my fair share of sleeping masks and given its price tag, it needs to be a standout among the ones already in my stash.
The packaging on A’Pieu Icing Sweet Bar Sheet Mask (Hanrabong) is very cute and the mask does provide some hydration and brightening, but not so that I couldn’t find in another sheet mask. The scent on this one isn’t great either.
Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Ultimate Hydro Gel - Gel moisturizers don't agree with my skin, even in the summertime when my otherwise dehydrated-combo skin leans a lot more oily. Gel-creams I can do and like a lot, but gel moisturizers don't give my skin enough hydration. This could work nicely as a serum or even as a sleeping mask, but I have a lot of those already.
NO – The bottom row can be summed up with this - "It's you. It's definitely you."
C'est Moi Gentle Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes - love that these are biodegradable; love the fun packaging. These are just way too soapy for my liking.
Sephora Scented Candle (Bloom) - if the candle threw off any scent, any at all, I'd probably be happy, but I didn't pick up any scent when it was burning. Sigh.
bk shimmer Hand Sanitizer Gel - this would make an excellent aid for keeping people socially distanced from me. It smells awful. After using it, no, even while using it, I wanted to get away from myself.
Sephora Collection Coconut Water Dry Shampoo - this was part of a Sephora Collection coconut skincare products. The sheet masks and hair masks were hits for me, the mist was okay but this was probably the least liked product. It's not horrible, the smell is nice, but I felt like it weighed down my hair and made it look more greasy than if I had just skipped the dry shampoo.
I’m just not a fan of bubble sheet masks and that was already one strike against the JMSolution 24K Gold Premium Peptide Mask Rose Gold Limited Edition. Fit wasn’t the greatest either and I’ve had inconsistent results from this mask.
DE-STASH: 3 for this month, 6 to date. I don’t include my de-stashes in my MTD/YTD count.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara - my lashline, which admittedly can get very oily, and this mascara just don't get along. This seems to smudge on me all the time. 😞
Sephora Collection Clear and Cover Acne Treatment Cream Concealer with 2% Salicylic Acid (x2) - I don't know what combination of ingredients in this concealer I'm having a reaction to, but for a product meant to help me conceal my acne, it's actually doing more to give me more acne to conceal. 😒😂
Re: Empties - V2
@lmaster, Thanks twinsie! 🤗 I like the coconut version of the boo bamboo mask. This one is fine, but I don’t see the pore refining that it claims. My pores still look the same afterwards. 😔
Re: Empties - V2
Great empties, @itsfi !! I'll have to keep my eye out for those Aveeno foot mask. Whats the Tory Burch perfume like? I really like Bel and Nuit Azur.
