Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi I was reading though nodding my head all the way through your post.  Gotta ask... what's a splash mask?

Re: Empties - V2

@missjeanie, a "splash mask" is a highly concentrated liquid that usually consists of an exfoliating acid (i.e., glycolic, lactic, etc.), glycerin and certain other good-for-your-skin ingredients, depending on the intended purpose of the splash mask. The idea is that the potency of the 'splash mask' condenses the traditional 15-20 minute sheet mask session to about 15 seconds. I KNOW!! 15 seconds!!

It's usually marketed as a toner, mask and moisturizer in one product. There's usually a couple of different ways you can use a splash mask. One, is in the shower - hop in the shower, measure out a 1/2 capful of the 'splash mask', pour into cupped palms and then pat the 'splash mask' onto face for 15 seconds as the water from the shower is mixed in with the splash mask as you "splash" your face with the liquid and the water from the shower head. After patting face dry, I follow up with my moisturizer and sunblock.

Another way to use it is to fill a deep bowl with water and then add a half a capful into the bowl and then splash your face with the mixture before patting dry and following up with moisturizer and sunblock.  It retexturizes the skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth.

There's several different splash masks out there. Sephora used to carry 3 from Blithe and 1 from boscia, but no longer stocks them. In addition to those 2 brands, Skinfood also makes a splash mask.

Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi How have I never heard of this??? This sounds absolutely wonderful!  I've been doing more gentle scrubs lately to cut down on time and rinsing them in shower.  I'm so pumped to explore this new genre of masking, thanks so much for the introduction! Do you have a favourite splash mask?

Re: Empties - V2

Great job! @itsfi 😋😋😋

Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Re: Empties - V2

Great job @itsfi too bad the cute pig mask didn't make the cut

Re: Empties - V2

@lmaster, I feel like I’m extra picky when it comes to hydrogel sheet masks. That coupled with having used a lot of really good sheet masks this past meant a sheet mask had a higher bar to clear to get noticed. I wouldn’t dash out the door to look for it but I’d use this one again.

Re: Empties - V2

Good to know! @itsfi

Re: Empties - V2

Holy sheet masks, @itsfi! Tres impressive.

Re: Empties - V2

Thank you @CookieGirl1! 😃 I do love my mask time! 😂

Re: Empties - V2

I am so far behind on cleaning out my empties bag that it's not even funny... So here are a few things from the past (several) months.

The GOOD: I either already have a backup, will definitely be getting one soon, or have it on the short list to pick up again in the near future. These are all amazing products for me.

-L'occitane Wonderful Rose Handcream
-(accidentally pictured in the next group because my mind just wasn't working correctly) Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners in Hustle  and Rockstar

The MEH group: These were just ok. Some are not bad at all, but I already have one or two favorites in that particular category and these just don't topple those. These products *could* be repurchased at some point, but odds are they won't be. I'll happily use up random samples they show up as though.

Re: Empties - V2

Hi @quspork ,

Wow! You have a great set of empties! I feel like I am the only one that loves the Becca Skin Love! lol I do love the Fresh Lip Therapy Balms!

Best Wishes,

Janean

Re: Empties - V2

@JaneanBT The Fresh balms are sooo good! I have so many and keep them everywhere LOL.

Re: Empties - V2

@qusporkIalso wasn't a fan of the hair scrub- honestly howare those even supposed to work? They're all basically impossible to work into your hair

Re: Empties - V2

@quspork oh I'm sorry to see the Christophe Robin scrub and the Dr Jart cicapair treatment,,I love both of those,,, you did a great job here!!🙌

Re: Empties - V2

Yeah, the scrub was just too difficult to work into my scalp with so much thick, coarse hair and that poor Dr Jart... this was the color corrector and the color it corrects to is just too dark/warm for my very pale skin even with significant blending, LOL, @lmaster I'm glad they work out better for you!

Re: Empties - V2

Completely understand that @quspork I've seen others comment the Dr Jart was too dark for them also

Re: Empties - V2

So many empties @quspork !. I love the BB Hairdressers oil line!

Re: Empties - V2

Yes! Their shampoo and conditioner are the best, @missjeanie!

Re: Empties - V2

That quite a group of empties! Interesting that quite a few popular things made it on your ugly list.

Re: Empties - V2

Oh definitely, @snoflakefaerie and that usually adds extra disappointment, LOL. It just goes to show just how much beauty items are so much YMMV!
