@lmaster Yes does great things for my skin! Probably will repurchase soon trying to work through some other facial oils first!

October 2019 Empties

BAREMINERALS - Original Loose Powder Mineral Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Got samples of shades 02 Fair Ivory and 03 Fairly Light. I think 02 works better for my skin tone but both were doable. I purchased the 02 with Ulta points. I find Bare Minerals reliable but am curious to branch out into different foundations or tinted moisturizers (which I haven't found many that are light) over the next year.

La Roche Posay Mineral SPF 50

Typical sunscreen white cast and somewhat shiny. I wouldn't use it as a daily sunscreen because it can't be worn alone. Good to try a sample but wouldn't buy.

SUPERGOOP! - 100% Mineral Smooth & Poreless Matte Screen SPF 40

@faeriegirl sent me this sample. The tint, despite seeming dark out of the tube, blended beautifully into my skin. It felt a lot like a primer. I did get pimples on my chin when I used it a few times but they came and went quickly. I also don't know how much I needed to apply since it seems more like a primer than a sunscreen. I loved trying this and how smoothly it blended but still need to search for my perfect daily sunscreen.

Skindinavia Setting Spray

I bought the bridal setting spray for my wedding in 2015. I finally used that up a few months back and moved onto this mini that came free with purchase. Not sure if I could tell a difference between the two but I'm not a setting spray officiando. Worked fine to me.

Vichy Mineral 89

I love this hyaluronic acid serum. I find it does help with my lines, especially the sleep ones I tend to get by my nose. Price is the reason it's not a love. Though I have been getting it with 40% coupons at CVS which make it a lot more budget friendly. I'm curious to try THE INKEY LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum since it is a lower price point and see how it compares. One more bottle of Vichy and then The Inkey List gets a try.

CeraVe PM

Love the ceramides and niacinamide. I like that it has a thinner consistency than the CeraVe Baby lotion but I'm still debating which one to use since they have mostly similar "good" ingredients. I'll have to look at costs per use and also see how the reformulation (thinner than previous) affected the number of uses in the bottle.

Stress Relief Body Wash

It was fine. I enjoy this type of scent more for a bath or lotion vs. a daily body wash.

Cucumber Melon Lotion

Such a nice throwback that the lovely @Shosh85 sent me. It was so nostalgic, even some of the guys at worked stopped into my office to verify it was that scent. Probably not my favorite lotion of all time but it was nice to use again.

Energy Body Lotion

This has a citrusy type smell and does provide "energy." It just isn't a scent for me. I tried to use it as a kitchen lotion for after doing the dishes but would rarely use it. I finally took it to work and my goal was to use it once a week and finish it this year - yay, I did it!

Cotton Squares

I like cotton squares better than cotton rounds. And then @missjeanie treated me to the SHISEIDO - Facial Cotton- what a difference! My plan is going with reusable rounds instead after I finish the Shiseido cotton.

DEVACURL - SUPERCREAM™ Coconut Curl Styler

This product is best for wash day for me. It forms more clumps and my ends have a more defined curl pattern but my top seems less wavy when I use it.

DEVACURL - B'LEAVE-IN™ Miracle Curl Plumper

It's my refresh day product that hasn't let me down. It helps more with wave than curl for me. I just rewet hair and add and let it air dry. Good stuff!

Re: Empties - 2019

Hi @ShortErica,

I've been using the BareMinerals Original Foundation for years and it's one of my go to foundations. I branch out and try new ones as well, but keep my BM as it's always reliable and looks great on my skin. <333

Re: Empties - 2019

@Brutalitops Thank you! I received them from another BIC user!

Re: Empties - 2019

Aww shucks @Samtian , looks like I’ll have to do some internet sleuthing for my stocking stuffers 😉 Thanks for the post!

@Brutalitops Of course! And best of luck!

Re: Empties - 2019

My October empties

It feels like I’ve been out of town for work at least once a week for the last couple of months and these Muji travel pre-soaked diffuser reeds have been a nice way to make my hotel rooms feel a little more like home. I discovered this when I was in the store and there were only two scents available, this one has a citrus scent, leans lemon-ish without smelling like Pledge; the other scent is more floral, geranium and lavender based, if I’m remembering correctly. I may pick up the other scent the next time I’m in the store to see how it compares.

Ran out of my first cleanser when I was out of town so I hopped into a Sephora to pick up a sample of the TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser  (and I also picked up some goodies while I was there – heehee!); this cleansing oil is one of my favorites, especially in the cooler months. While I was there, I’ve been wanting to try the TATCHA - The Silk Cream and asked for a sample of that as well. It wasn’t bad; I think I need a larger sampling to know if it’s something I’d be interested in purchasing; hopefully there’ll be a mini/travel size or promo available for it.

TOO FACED - Hangover Replenishing Face Primer is one of my go to’s when it comes to hydrating primers; love it. I picked up the full size of the spray version so we'll see how that one compares to this primer. AMOREPACIFIC - Treatment Enzyme Peel Cleansing Powder is a HG for me. I have it in multiple sizes – mini, DS, promo, and I’m pretty sure I have it in a full size as well.

Looking at the pic of my empties it looks like I was on a lemon-scented kick here – the L’Occitane Citrus Verbena hand cream has a great consistency and a nice fresh, citrusy scent that’s perfect as a pick me up any time of the day. I have a plethora of hand creams that I’m determined to work through before picking any more up so we’ll see if this one becomes one I’d purchase.

SUPERGOOP! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 is one of the chemical sunscreens that has changed my mind about chemical sunscreens. My preference is still for physical sunscreens but this one has a great texture and feel and doesn’t make my skin breakout like chemical sunscreens before it did. It wears well under makeup because it doesn’t leave any white cast, another thing I love about it. It can sometimes make my skin look greasy which is a con; I find that to be the case when my skin is on the oilier side. Still debating whether I want to pick up a full size of this one; I have another mini sample of this one, maybe two, actually so I’m not in a hurry to decide.

I’m on the fence over the BELIF - Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream; I have a feeling eye creams will be the skincare product I focus on next year and by that I mean, I’ll want to find one or two that are my go to’s. I thought I might try to figure that out this year but I’ve been distracted by other beauty products.

I’ve finally gone through a jar of the HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Fruit Enzyme Resurfacing Clarity Mask. This has been a long time in the making, in large part because I’ve been rotating through a handful of clarifying skincare products. It’s a good product and my skin responds well to it, but there are others  that I like more so it won’t be a repurchase. I’m on the fence over the CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm – it’s been my go to / HG first cleansing balm for the longest time, over 5 years now, I think. I still find it a great cleansing balm; there are just others out there that I have a slight preference for, like the Farmacy Green Clean. I am working through another full size jar of the Clinique and it may be that I determine having two balm style first cleansers isn’t a bad thing.

Re: Empties - 2019

Hi @itsfi,

Lots of awesome empties!

Re: Empties - 2019

Thank you @RebeccaBT! It was a good month for getting through things! 💕

Re: Empties - 2019

Nice empties @itsfi ! My two favorite tatcha products. The travel diffusers sound interesting, always nice to have something homey on the road.

Re: Empties - 2019

Thank you @CC3616! 🤗 I love the Tatcha cleansing oil!! ♥️ I’m debating over the silk cream or the dewy skin cream.

Re: Empties - 2019

Great job. I like your thought process here, and I will have to try that clinique take the day off balm if I come across a sample size.  @itsfi

Re: Empties - 2019

Thank you @l8totheparty. It’s so nice that there are all these great options when it comes to cleansers. Are there cleansers that you are loving?

Re: Empties - 2019

I use Farmacy Green Clean every night, and I've been using the Dr. Brandt hydro biotic cleanser in the morning for the last 3-4 months (so nice and gentle!). I've also started, and can't complain about, the OLEHENRIKSEN - The Clean Truth™ Foaming Cleanser

I haven't used the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser enough to form a solid opinion, but it's in my travel bag and I have no complaints using it.

Of course the Enzyme cleaning powder is great, I use it in the mornings sometimes if I remember .

I almost bought an Olehendriksen CT this sale, then realized I have enough trial sizes of others to last me a little while.  Gotta use up some of the stash, considering the stash only started collecting this year as I've made my way to a betterskin-care routine. Lol

Re: Empties - 2019

Nice job @itsfi   Especially on the full sizes!

Re: Empties - 2019

The full sizes are definitely the more challenging ones @emaisgr8, especially if it’s not a product I use every day.

Re: Empties - 2019

Nice set of empties @itsfi!!!

Re: Empties - 2019

Thank you @sephoraaddict918! 🤗 I’ve been working through a lot of products that were open and just sitting on my shelf. Feels good to be making some dents in my collection, figuring out which are must have’s and making room for other products. 🥰

there's something amazing about the farmacy cleansing balm! @itsfi I can say, I'll probably stick with this brand for a long time 😉
