Seeing product empties is so satisfying 🙂
Post your weekly, monthly, quarterly, whenever-ly empties and let us know how you felt about them!
Previous Empties thread:
Thanks! I was so excited about going through so many lol!
My empties for the month of March. Lots of loves and likes this month!!! YTD total is 81 ! If I keep up this pace I’ll be able to reach 100+ empties next month, can’t wait 🙂
Loves :
Dr Jart - Water Replenishment Sheet Mask : Such a good moisturizing mask. The cotton sheet is so comfortable and stays in place. My face drinks all the serum but there’s no feeling of a residue left on my skin afterwards. Helps my dry patches.
Creme Shop - Peppermint oil sheet mask : Light peppermint scent that is really nice. This is a great mask to fight acne and reduce the size of zits. Since I started using peppermint oil, I find it more effective than tea tree oil. The eye holes are definitely too small, but it’s okay the sheet stays in place.
Sarah Chapman Skinesis 3D Moisture Infusion : LOVED the bio-cellulose sheet mask, it’s like putting a giant gel patch over your face. It stayed put the entire time. The fit was perfect for my face, it didn’t go too far up my hairline or near my ears or down my chin. The eye holes were a little bit tiny, but you can cover you eyes so I get why it’s made like that. The sheet wasn’t dripping in serum, it had just enough for the face and a little bit for the neck. 100% would repurchase.
Peace Out - Acne Healing Dots : These help reduce the scarring a lot, not preventing or stopping the acne from developing. I let the dots work overnight since they are pretty opaque and visible. They are extremely sticky and don’t move during the night. Since they are so sticky they do leave a red mark on the skin when removing that can take a bit of time to disappear, so I don’t use them if I have something important the next morning.
Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation sampler : Love the neutral undertone in this range, they are a perfect match for my skin. Didn’t break me out, gave me a soft glow, didn’t look cakey or faded. The formula is easy to work with. Probably will buy the full size.
YSL Touche Eclat All-Over Brightening Pen : On my "natural" makeup days I love to use this. Super natural, luminous, lightweight concealer. It does brighten very well and doesn’t crease under my eyes. It easy to highlight with it too! The clicker dispense a lot of product. Although, I would say if you use it everyday it wouldn’t last long, so it can get pretty expensive.
Deva Curl - Melt into moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning mask : Really smells like a matcha butter. I used it as a conditionner and as a mask under a shower cap and it worked wonderfully both ways. I would probably buy a full size because it made my waves look naturally amazing, no frizz and didn’t felt weighted down.
Kenra Professional Dry Oil Control Spray : First product I ever try from this brand and I was really impressed. Really helped tame my numerous flyaways and my hair looked instantly more shiny. You don’t need a lot and I would suggest focusing on your lenghts/ends rather than your scalp cause it can look greasy. I would only spray a small amount for the flyaways on my scalp. I live in a humid weather and this is great too, medium hold. My hairstyle stays in place.
Peter Thomas Roth - Pumpkin Enzyme Mask : I looooove the sweet sugary pumpkin spice smell. I was surprised this worked for my sensitive skin, but I let it on for the minimum amount of time recommended (3-4 mins top). The enzymes really work their way through the flakes and dry areas of my face. My skin looks polish, clear and fresh. A great product if you have a lot of texture.
Prada - La Femme : I’m not really good to describe scent so bare with me. I would describe this as a fresh, sensual but sophisticated one. It’s a more floral scent but there’s also a little bit of spices in the top notes. Wear time is nice, not all day, but definitely a 5-6 hours.
Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum cream : I don’t know what to say that hasn’t been said before. This is my favorite body cream, smells divine and leaves a light beautiful shimmer on the skin. I did notice some tightening especially on my thighs, arms and belly.
Sephora Collection Solid brush cleaner : Holy grail for deep cleaning my brushes and makeup sponges, I have 2 backups waiting for me already. This is less expensive than the beauty blender one and works better and faster in my opinion. They changed the packaging (this is the old one), but the formula stays the same except the fragrance is a little bit more intense in the new version. I wish Sephora would sell the soap alone as a refill, because I think it’s a huge waste of packaging since I go through it quickly.
Cotton Rounds (from Costco) : I don’t use cotton rounds a lot, but these are really soft and gentle. There’s also a textured side (that you can peel off if you don’t want to use it) which is great to remove nail polish or slightly exfoliate when applying toner. I also like to clean my falsies with these.
Likes :
Veet Easy Gel Wax : Easy to use for a quick wax at home. I do think waxing at home is less efficient than at a salon, but it does the job if you’re on a budget.
Creme Shop Masks : Weird fit of the sheets for these two, but the results were great. Fast absorbing serum as always.
Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask : I hate peel off masks, but it works so well. I only use it exclusively on my T zone, because I can’t handle the cheeks/jawline because of all my peach fuzz (hurts so bad lol). I does reduce the appearance of my pores and seems to clean them as well. It does remove my dry flakes too.
Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser : I liked it, it’s very gentle and seemed to brighten my skin a little bit. Would probably buy a full size. Smells a little bit like strawberries.
Sephora Collection Exfoliating Wipes - Papaya - Glow : Smells incredible, like a sweet papaya candy (more on the artificial side). Remove makeup easily. A++ for the packaging too, keeps the wipes super moist. I wish Sephora would make a non-exfoliating version of this otherwise I won’t repurchase the papaya ones. I didn’t use the exfoliating side because it was too harsh for my skin so I went through the pack very quickly.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir : Love to spray this on my face, especially in between layering my makeup produces a much more natural appearance. It gives a wonderful glow to my skin. The mist is pretty fine, you don’t need to spray that far away from your face. I hate the minty scent though, I wish it wasn’t as intense.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm : To me this is even more moisturizing than the Clinique TTDO balm. Although it doesn’t dissolves eye makeup as good as the Clinique one because it’s a thicker formula. It didn’t break me out. The scent of the essential oils in it is pretty intense, but tolerable. Plus it comes with a quality wash cloth. The only big downside is the price, it’s a pretty fancy balm.
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo : This is a good dry shampoo. If my hair is really really oily it doesn’t seem to absorb all of my oils.. But it does refresh nicely and doesn’t leave a white cast on your hair. I wash my hair every 4 days or so, this dry shampoo is alright for the third day, but it’s not "powerful" enough for my last day. Also it has the delicious signature scent of all other Amika’s products.
Nope :
Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser : I wanted to love this so bad, but I’m 80% sure this broke me out… which is weird because mud based product usually work very well for me. I think there’s an essential oil that doesn’t suit my skin. It cleansed okay, but after rinsing I felt like there was a film left on my skin. This makes sense though because the formula is specially made for dry skin. My oily T zone couldn’t handle it. This cleanser is also extremely expensive so in the end I don’t think I would buy the full size.
Don’t know 🤷♀️:
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mask : Had a huuuuge allergic reaction after removing this mask when trying to apply my makeup, but I think I just combined too many products that day. I have two backups of this so I’ll need to try it again on it’s own to see how I like it.
That's a lot of empties for one month! Way to go on using up what you have @ellem24 !
My up-to-date empties
I just realized I have enough cleanser samples that lasts me until end of the year and even after that. So no more buying just to get gwp for me 😂
March empties
You have so many great products here @jen81! That Paula’s Choice sounds really good - hydrating and soothing toners are always something I like to use; will take a look at that one.
January Empties
January empties
I was not impressed by the Kiehl’s it was very hard the get out of the bottle. WNRP
I love Hempz lotions and will continue to purchase.
The Yesto tomatoes was good for when my face felt clogged or extra dirty.
Clinique is just a good staple moisturizer. I use this when my face is feeling irritated.
The tarte lip rescue quench were drying over time. WNRP
Answer from collagen eye cream was fine, but nothing special. Would use it again, but would probably not seek it out to purchase.
I absolutely HATE that Kiehl's bottle too @emaisgr8 , but the product works like a dream for my dry skin!
My empties for January!
@sephoraaddict918, LOVE the Sephora hand and foot masks!! ♥️♥️ The Sol de Janeiro smells amazing! Great way to repurpose that Fresh lip scrub; I’m currently repurposing a “meh” lip scrub as a foot scrub! 😉
This month I’ve been able to finish 11 items! I don’t count sheet masks or foils because I would never be able to keep them for a month and remember what I used 🤷🏽♀️
Loves:
Neutrogena T-Gel. This is a no-fuss clarifying shampoo. I’ve been using it once a week forever to help with product and dry shampoo buildup and prevent dandruff. It’s not fancy but I swear by it!
FAB ultra repair. Swear by it, works on my dry sensitive skin without issues. Can’t say enough good things about this and will buy it forever 😂 I only wish that it came in a bigger tube size. I won’t buy the tub even though I’d use that much just because I much prefer a tube.
Likes:
John frieda in shower lightening treatments. This definitely did the job of lightening my bleached hair in one use. I combined it with a purple toned conditioner. I didn’t find that it dried my hair out at all. The smell was exactly the same as the bleach smell at a hair salon, which was a little overpowering in a hot shower. Probably wouldn’t rebuy it just because I was trying to refresh my hair in between salon visits, but I think I’ll leave it up to the professionals for now 😂
FAB ultra repair lip therapy. I liked this a lot. It kept my lips moisturized and was a nice barrier against the cold. I like using the Rosebud lip salve normally, but I only like the tin version for some reason. This was good because it was the same consistency. I have another one because I purchased the Hydration Harbour set around the holidays and will use it, but not sure I would repurchase it on its own. Towards the end, it started separating which was a little gross (an oily liquid would come out before the salve/gel).
Thank U, Next:
Urban decay - hi fi shine cushion lipgloss in naked. The color payoff was low, and the staying power was non existent. It had a minty feeling, and I think if I wanted that I would prefer a Buxom gloss.
L’occitane verveine cooling hand creme gel. It didn’t go a great job of hydrating my hands and left them greasy because of the gel texture. The smell was good though! Didn’t notice too much of a cooling effect.
Cake the do gooder dry shampoo. The smell was a bit overpowering for me, and I don’t think it did a fantastic job. I much prefer my Batiste dry shampoo, and I’ll stick with that! It was okay though, just not for me. I have dark, fine hair. It may work better for someone with a different hair texture.
Living proof neotensil wipes. These have been living in my gym bag forever as a “just in case I need” makeup remover wipe. I have no idea what the intended use is for these as I believe they were discontinued (I picked up a pack of 60 for 3.99 at winners). They did a decent job of removing any makeup I missed, or doing a quick removal if I didn’t have time to take my makeup off before working out. Mainly wouldn’t buy them again because I have SC wipes and Creme shop ones that do a better job (because they’re actually for removing makeup haha).
Ponds dry skin creme. This was a no from me because it was just way too thick for my face. I ended up using it as a body moisturizer, which it did a great job of. I wouldn’t repurchase this because I have tons of body lotion, and I really don’t like body lotion that comes in tubs. Towards the end I used a masking tool to get at the product.
pantene weekly rehab creme. I didn’t notice too much of a difference while using this. It did smell nice and fresh though. I’ve realized that in-shower hair masks just aren’t for me.
St Ives fresh skin apricot scrub mini. I love the smell, and used this a long time ago. It’s just too abrasive now for my more sensitive skin, and I’ve been turning more to chemical exfoliators versus physical exfoliators. If I’m going to do a physical one, it’s with my Foreo Luna for sensitive skin on a low setting
