Okay okay, so I know it isn't *technically* fall quite yet (we just had a heat wave in the Bay Area...) but we are just too excited to break out all of the mauves, browns and deep reds for this festive season! Whatever your take on a Fall lip is, we want to see your pics and hear your thoughts.

Hello beauties! At the beginning of fall I always want to wear back, high-heeled boots and red lipstick but it's been too hot for that so far (no complaints) - still I have been crazy busy and I missed this forum for a while so I thought I would break out and try a few different lipstick things. Please excuse the terrible application and lack of foundation - I was having kind of a lazy day. First is YSL Pur Couture in 01-Rouge Blood Red (love this formula it is so comfortable and moisturizing) it goes on very evenly, lasts well, isn't messy and is nicely pigmented - one swipe is really all you need. It feels almost like wearing a balm (almost but not quite) but for a semi-matte lipstick it's VERY nice and comfy - one of my fave formulas. Second is the Smashbox Chrome/Metallic finish - the application mess is my own error and I think I could have benefited from a second layer because it's not popping quite as much as I would like here. I have worn this at night and I find that the chrome/metallic finish comes out better in the evening light and really I'm probably the only one trying to wear bright red chrome metallic lipstick during the day so I'm not so sure that's such a hot tip lol.

@HookedOnBeauty2Thank you! : ) 💝 I quite like it too, it comes on like a thick rich and very pigmented gloss so I like that I don't have to wear anything underneath and that it's not drying. I find that it's a very wearable sort of metallic chrome too even if you weren't looking for anything TOO blinding but with a nice sort of metal finish.

Btw - haha I bought a baby pink lipstick in a lighter colour than I would normally buy because I kept thinking about how good your looked in the baby pinks/purples i saw in the summer and i was hoping some of that would rub off on me! : ) 💖

@jozkid! Hello bella - thank you so much for the welcome back! 💖 You know what I kind of like about the Smashbox? It was one of the first lippies to come out with the this metal finish and while I don't own any others yet I have swatched them on my hand a whole bunch at the store and it seems to me like the Smashbox is maybe a bit less metallic but a lot more pigmented - it seems like many of the new glitter and metal shades are maybe best used as toppers but this one is a legitimate thick lipstick and it is also not drying at all (though you do feel it ) I don't mind that so much. I quite like it and I think it would look so good on you, you really rock bright colours! 💖

@GlitternoodleAwww, shucks! : ) Xo thank you so much for the kind words Glitter! : ) Yes! It's Crimson Chrome!! : ) It's coming through paler than it is here I think because of of the bright sunlight. When I've worn it in the evening I find that it did look quite a bit darker and that the metallic shine showed a little better. I do like a metallic finish and this is the only one I own so far! I have to find some new ones to try! : )
