Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

Hi all,

Wondering if the Lisa Eldridge lipsticks are worth hunting down? Thoughts?

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

@TraceyEB. I would say that they definitely run more than VB's which also smear some for me.

I never used to hav2that problem.

Hourglass's Voyeur liners are pretty good.

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

I love the shades and it worked better over a bit of powder shadow but to the touch they can still smudge. They’re a bit creamier than VB and i don’t tend to touch my eyes so maybe i just didn’t notice that with VB. But why are they claiming budge proof lol.

and yes the gold has like a black base

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

@aviscardi   Yes, that's exactly what I say- why misadvertise.

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

They’re pretty aren’t they @Ispend2much6 ? I just got my Cinder Smoke and Night Forest and they’re beautiful. They felt similar to VBB to me, so smooth. Will try them tomorrow and see how they fare. 🙂 I usually do mine over shadow tho so that really locks them in well. 😊 I debated the Gold but worried it was too warm. No? Doesn’t look it on you anyway.

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

@Sunnysmom  The gold is not warm at all.  It seems to be a cool bronze, almost taupe.  And that's on me- shades always look cooler on you than on me, so you should be good.

Good tip about the shadow.  I tend to wear cream shadows, at least underneath, and have a tough time with gel liners not smearing.

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

Oh great @Ispend2much6 ! I will put that on my list for sure. I wanted to but I’ve had trouble with past bronze not being cool enough. Yup, I do a light cream shadow then layer with powder shadow and my liner goes over that , smudged. 😊 Hope it helps you too. So annoying when they don’t last! Sorry about the smearing for you. 🥹

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

Just so happens vb’s are on sale at Violet Grey right now. @Sunnysmom

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

@Ispend2much6 nice. Thankfully I neeed none right now. I’m stocked!  Wait. Aren’t they usually an exception tho? Not right now?

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

@Sunnysmom   Oops, you're correct.  And, you need to spend a$300 for measly 15%.  Nope.

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

Oh shoot @Ispend2much6 yup afraid she’s usually an exclusion on VG from past experience. WA isn’t tho fyi! 😊

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

I ordered the green and gold.  I think they will look good together.  I'm really tired of my liner running all over my eyes and upper cheeks.  Even UD does a little bit. Hope this is a good formula.

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

Ack! so here for these!!  - i think this green (not quite the olive im looking for) i might like the undertone better than the VB. Ouhh competition is here lol. I like 4 of the 6 woops. Im skipping black (i only need one of those) and the grey which i don't wear.
 launching tomorrow !!

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

Did you get some @aviscardi ?! 💞

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

@Sunnysmom Yes!! So here is what is happening and I’m a bit torn.  I got them to wear on my waterline mainly as that’s how i wear my pencils 90% of the time. Occasionally i will add to the upper lash and that’s usually black or brown. They wore fine on the waterline in the 2 shades i tried both forest and gold pulled slightly on the corners after 6-9 hours nothing unusual. I wore the other 2 browns on the lashline and they don’t seem to set but then i guess neither does VB. Or am i imagining that?!. I tend to wear inglot gel in black when i have a full eyeshadow look so i don’t really notice.  I think I’m just confused about the budgeproof aspect because i don’t normally touch my eyes but then people were talking about it lol. So then i wanted to test it. I only had on a shadow stick with a touch of powder to lightly set it.  And then i ran my cream bronzer and powder blush and hl over it.

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

@aviscardiappreciate the eyeliner application conversation you and @Sunnysmom are having. I mostly line in the waterline, so it's possible the LE liners could work for me though it may not be worth the investment if they are tricky to apply. I have hooded eyes, so if I line above the lashes it can't transfer.

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

Yep @TraceyEB that’s where i wear my pencils mainly too so i think it should be fine. I don’t have hooded lids but i can imagine they will for sure transfer especially if someone has oily lids. I wore burnt umber in my waterline and had my makeup on for about 9hrs yesterday but I was wiped and totally forgot to check out the liner ha. By the time i did i already removed some but it looked it was mostly in tact except the corners which is fine with me.

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

@aviscardi, thanks for sharing your experience! I have oily and hooded lids so, for me, these might only work on the waterline. 🤔

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

Ooh these are beautiful on you @aviscardi , thanks for showing us! 😍 I hear you on the waterline issues for liners. When I do that, not much really works forever. VBB isn’t bad, works ok but not forever,  HG , MJ and KVD were best at least in black and I haven’t tried these yet tho I will tomorrow I think. I will say this. Having used my 2 this am over my powder liner they are are still on and holding and it’s like 9 hours later lol. Smudged but still fully on. Maybe my eyelids aren’t too oily today tho I do use a cream powder then powder then the liner. Maybe I just lucked out today. Lol. Time will tell. But these shades look great on you ! Drats. I need the top one I guess! 😭 My VBB and HG are too bronzey. (Have you tried MAKE lines by the way? They’re pretty good!)

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

Right so i had on just a shadow stick set lightly. And then i ran the cream bronzer and powder blush and highlight over. Usually when i would wear say for a longer day out I’d put powder shadow under right at the base to make it a bit smoky so I’m not sure if that’s why i didn’t notice before like you can’t have anything remotely emollient under. I just heard people talking and was like oh let me test lol. But so far they worked perfectly fine in the waterline. Maybe il try that today with powder liner on the lash line. Did yours smudge to touch ?

no someone else tho just mentioned.  Do they sharpen or retractable?

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

I understand @aviscardi , that makes sense. I’m sure they will smudge way more that way as I think @Ispend2much6 mentions as well. 🙂 I found it to smudge a little when I touch it but really not too much even at end of the day. Sets pretty well it seems but I’m sure it does depend on what shadows etc . She says any sharpener that fits will work with them. Wish retractable. Hate wasting them!

Re: Lisa Eldridge lipsticks

OK cool il take a look. I wasn't in the market for any liners (unless its olive) i just like trying LE prod. Il report back later, i tried on the powder liner under today.
