Lips on Lock 🔐: List Your Lip Combos 💄👄

There's a post every other day about the best lip combo (keep them coming!) I've gotten to love lip contouring/ombre lips more than I thought I would, and I of course, need to justify a use for some of these lip liners/glosses/lipsticks etc...😶💄🤫

I also can't remember half of them, so if this a thread where I'm replying to myself 🤷🏽‍♀️, at least I'll have a list

Feel free to list your fave combos, also consider putting in your lip color  (pink, brown, dual colored, rosy, etc) and aesthetic /style/look to help others lockdown their combos.

That's a marvelous idea @Mellmars1185! I feel like it's one of those things where, if you are in the right frame of mind and conditions work for you (you're up for it, you're at home, etc.), you just capitalize on all of that and go for it, and from there, it gets easier with every subsequent use. I think you'll do a fab job; will keep an eye out for one of your looks with it. Out of curiosity, which shade(s) do you have?

If you get the SC, do share what you think of it. As you know, Summer Fridays also came out with theirs (which is sorta a hybrid of the SC and HB tips) and Kulfi has a lip liner stain too @lmaster. Not to encourage more shopping if you're on a low buy 😬 ummmm, just sharing options. 😅

I also found an unopen CoverGirl lip stain from, gosh, I don't know how long ago. That can't speak well for how old it is. 🙄😅

@itsfi @lmaster Have either of you tried the Summer Fridays as a comparison?  I did a swatch in store that bled on my hand so I'm hoping to find out if that was just a one off due to testers... well... being testers, or if it's an issue with the product across the board?

I have. I've also tried the testers in store; I didn't experience them bleeding @missjeanie, though the testers were brand new, like they were literally just put out so that may have skewed the experience I had testing them. I thought @ather may have tested one or has one?

@itsfi @missjeanie  I live like 2.5 hours from a store but I did get the Almond one. I didn’t experience any bleeding but I only put it on once and I noticed it was a little too dark for spring. On me it least!

@ather, sorry to hear the almond shade wasn't what you wanted for this upcoming season. It does show up deeper than how it appears on the product page. It's a good shade for me, but I think that's due largely to my lips having more pigment to them to begin with. Makes it harder for a color to show up when the shade is a true nude or softer neutral nude color but when it's a darker shade like the Summer Fridays Almond it works out. Do you think you'll pick up another shade?

@itsfi  I was looking at slipper. I will likely try that one! I agree I checked the page and I tried to see people using it but I guess I must have less pigment on my lips. It would work as a liner I think. But also nice for fall!!! Did you pick any up?

@ather, that Slipper shade would look beautiful on you; a fun one for spring, too. You could wear it softly or build it up for a more vibrant hue. You know, seeing them in person and swatching all the shades, I feel like that entire range wears darker than one might expect. I initially thought the Summer Fridays Flushed Lip Stain 12HR Long-Lasting Lip Tint Almond - soft neutral brown would be too light for me and assumed it would barely show up on my lips, if at all. Well, that was a wrong assumption on my part. It's actually the shade that suits me best and the one I picked up. That kinda how it goes sometimes though. Topping it off with a clear gloss or balm will give it a more spring like feel.

@itsfi  It’s good to know it wasn’t just me that noticed it seemed darker. I ordered slippers last night so we will see how it looks!! I’ll keep you posted! I wanted a my lips but better shade. So I hope it works out for me!!!

Thank you @haleyvvvv; the Sephora Collection ones have a unique tip to them. The ballpoint tip took some getting used to but it's good for getting a precise line once you get the hang of it.

Hmmm ... if you're thinking about diffusing or blending out the color at all with your fingers, line your lips in sections and then diffuse/blend that section. I found it dries down fairly quickly - when it sets, it is set. @danielledanielle
