@WinglessOne, the color is gorgeous!!  I have 12, and it's pretty.  A blind buy that kinda worked, given the swatches barely tell you what it looks like.   I feel like it's on par with the Velvets, and agree with you about the price.  I keep looking at number 4, and would only get it for a really good GWP, if I needed to.  (Needed to ..?  Send help )

Also, had no idea they break so easily.  I think I got mine during the cooler months, so that tracks.

Thanks @danielledanielle ! Ah, you got the shade I first wanted; 12 was OOS when I ordered. Shade 4, 3, 12, and 11 are on my Dior wishlist, but I doubt I’ll buy any of ‘em unless I figure out how to make this formula act right without having to do too much extra work. Though I do totally relate to needing to buy one to get a really good GWP someday. 🤣 I mean, if the GWP offsets some of the refill’s overvalued price, then there’s really no problem! (And no, that’s not “girl math.” It’s Dior math. 😂) 

My Velvets (new formula) feel better on my lips than the Premier I bought. They’re not hydrating or moisturizing and do still feel like mattes, but they’re a bit less drying than the Premier formula. Eh, my lips are just very fussy about dryness. The Velvet formula does make the Premiers seem even more overpriced to me, in terms of comfort and performance.

Great Haul! I love that the refillable works, and you found a way too help with the products stand alone dryness, comfort is so important and it looks very lovely on you! The detail is so neat! I also think it’s nice when brands give a backstory for the inspiration of their shades or stories behind products. @WinglessOne ❤️💄

Thanks @peculiarzmakeup ! Yeah, I regularly wear lip balm (Aquaphor Ointment) under most of my lipsticks because my lips are just chronically dry. So I’d have worn balm under this Dior lipstick even if it wasn’t a drying formula. 😉 I’m surprised this one’s still a bit drying even atop Aquaphor, though. Hopefully I can tweak it enough to reduce or stop that drying effect though.

I appreciate you sharing that hack I’ve been experiencing that with my lipsticks a lot lately I’m definatley gonna try that. I’m glad it makes it workout a bit more 🙂 @WinglessOne

@WinglessOne It’s too bad about the performance on your Dior lippie, but the shade looks lovely on you. I recently got a Shiseido lipstick (First Bite) and it is a red that also has some gold reflects in it like yours. Wasn’t sure I was going to like it, as I’m not so into sparkles anymore, but it’s subtle enough that I do!

Thanks @Guessgal ! Gosh, it’s been a few years since I last bought a Shiseido lipstick… noting to self to take a look at their current lineup. First Bite sounds lovely; glad you like it! Even those of us still into shiny sparkly things appreciate a subtle shimmer, too. 🙂

Sephora Sale & Points Haul

Wanted to get this up before the sale ends. VOLUSPA Mini Candle Set is on sale (about 43.5% off). I saw this set was available at one of my local stores. Picked up 2 - one to gift to a friend 🎁; one to gift to ... me! 😉 I would purchase more but don't want to order online as we're expecting a heat wave this week and this will surely melt in transport. Edited 9.3.2024 to add - seems like this is still on sale but the discount is not as great (sale price went from $27 to $36).

Also picked up Sephora Favorites Travel Spray Perfume Discovery Set with Redeemable Voucher - I'm pretty sure I'll redeem it for the The 7 Virtues Coconut Sun Eau de Parfum Travel Spray 0.34 oz / 10 ml eau de parfum spray - you're so right, @Buootiful, it's such a lovely coconut scent. 

Decided to pick up a few samples of the PATRICK TA Major Skin Hydra-Luxe Luminous Skin Perfecting Foundation For Natural Glow even though I have no business purchasing more foundation. 😁 Let's see how well of a shade match I can get @makeitup305. This could be an easy pass or something to add to the list for the next sales event.

@itsfi  awesome haul! Great deal on those Voluspa sets - if I didn't have candles coming out of my ears at the moment, I might be tempted, lol 🤣 they are a great brand. I too am intrigued by the Patrick Ta new foundation, though I also don't need any foundation at the moment. Will be interested to hear your thoughts on it! I hope you enjoy everything!

@caitbird, I like the consistency / texture of the product. The challenge for me is finding the right shade; I think I'll have better luck in late fall / early winter. My plan is to try a couple different shades again then, with the hope that I'll have worked through some of my already open foundations by that time 🤞😁

@itsfi  ah, shade matching, the struggle is real! Hope you're able to find a shade that works for you! I will be holding off on buying this one for now (since again, I don't need any more foundations at the moment), but will add it to my short list of possibilities to try when I've worked through one or two that I have.
