I love the idea of mixing the sets as gifts, @Sunnysmom! The Gucci blush looks amazing. I’m thinking of getting the peach color or I may get a Westman Atelier set. I’ve heard good things about Sweed, but I haven’t tried the yet. Thank you for your review!

These brands are killing it (and me 😭!) with all the terrific blush formulas @curlychiquita ! The Sweed is unique and very flattering, thoughtful line I think. The peach blush will be so perfect for you! I love all the WA sets! So clever to keep the shades LE almost forever. Grr. Lol I’m dying for the lip trio for the red in it but the others won’t work! Wanna split it?! 🥰

@Sunnysmom  You picked some nice sets! I don’t think Gee was on my radar, but now I’ll have to check ‘em out. Good to know about the RMS lip oils; I wondered how sheer they really are. Lovely swatches, as always!

There are so many cute sets this year @WinglessOne ! Oof. Yup same with me. NM has them as well tho not all the lip shades I see on their site. Need to try them next tho I have zero business doing so! The lip pencil is comfortable as is the lip crayon. You should def try the RMS. I usually think lip oils are too thin or never enough color but these do not disappoint imo. 💞

I mean, I had to get my welcome gift anyway so why not add a few lipsticks. Psh, “lipstick low buy,” what the heck is that. 😄

DIOR Rouge Dior Forever Liquid Sequin Lipstick shades Stars and Sensation - @danielledanielle and I think @itsfi were curious about Stars. I’ve got feedback and plenty of lip swatches for you and anyone else who’s curious:

First off, these are liquid mattes, just like the regular non-Sequin shades. If your lips are as fussy as mine are about liquid matte dryness, you’ll want both a good lip balm (Aquaphor Ointment for me) plus maybe a non-drying lip primer for extra cushioning. In my photos below, I’m just wearing Aquaphor underneath Stars. Also, I didn’t use a lip liner (my choice would be PAT McGRATH LABS Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil Deep Void) so my outline’s kinda messy. I usually use liner with liquid mattes so I don’t have to worry about rushing to clean up any mistakes, given how quickly these dry down. 

Here’s 2 coats of Stars during Dior’s recommended 5-minute dry down: 

L: high res rear camera (on phone). R: lower res front camera. The messy outline annoys me each time I see these photos. 😄

After 5 minutes, Dior says press your lips together to bring out all the glitter. Here’s how that looks: 

Bottom is a low res front camera shot; I was trying to catch more of the glitter, because the 3 high res photos don’t do Stars justice in the sparkle department. Wish I’d swatched this during daylight hours.

Even with a thin Aquaphor base, my lips are wishing I’d added a primer before lipstick. This isn’t the driest liquid matte formula I’ve ever used (that dishonor still goes to either ABH or Lime Crime; let’s call that a tie), but it’s drier than a NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment. It doesn’t feel gritty despite all the glitter. Next time I wear it (or first time I wear my other shade, Sensation) though, I’ll definitely use more Aquaphor and my trusty MAC lip primer. 

Stars’ deep purple color is transfer-proof, but its pink glitter is not. At all. Your lips will fairydust everything they touch. I didn’t notice any fragrance or scent during application or wear. In my photos, you can see where the color sheered out a bit after I pressed my lips together, particularly on my bottom lip. I’m surprisingly not mad about that… I kinda like how that looks. But if you want full purple opacity, I recommend applying it over a full lip base of dark lip liner. 

Speaking of layering, Stars does pretty well under lip gloss. Here it is under LH Cosmetics Infinity Glass (a clear, very lightweight, truly non-stick gloss): 

Diorshow Stylo 24H-Wear Waterproof Eyeliner shade Pearly Ruby - miiight be too close to shade Pearly Coral on my skin tone, but I’m not swatch-comparing them tonight. Lemme live in denial for a few hours. 

DIOR Dior Addict Shine Lipstick shade Divine Plum - hmm, this seems sheerer than I expected. But I haven’t tried it on my lips yet. (Still wearing Stars right now.)

And now I have Javert singing Stars in my head now. The shade looks lovely and reminds of the Ciate black glitter lipsticks a few years back.  Haha transferring fairy dust! Better than bloody murder on your coffee cup with a red lippie 🙂 @WinglessOne

@Buootiful  Ah, I couldn’t remember who had a similar sparkly liquid matte. Ciaté, I should’ve known! 🤣 I bet they still sell it… asking Google… hmm, their Glitter Flip lipstick’s only on their UK site now, but shade Storm (the black one) is listed there. 

I actually don’t mind lipstick transferring to cups, unless it’s a liquid matte. I mean, the main selling point of liquid mattes is “no color transfer,” so when one does transfer a lot on my cup, I get annoyed. I wear bullets and glosses far more often than liquid mattes, though. Besides, it’s kinda fun sometimes to leave blue, purple, black, green, teal, or orange lip prints on coffee cups. 🙂
