Connect in Colour palette - rainbowish color story + reformulated MAC shadows = too tempting to resist. MAC calls the white shade (White Frost) “bright frosted white,” but it looks and feels more like a pearly silky white satin. I’d happily buy that shade as a single. Jury’s out on the other shades, though I honestly didn’t expect them to be a bold punch of color based on my experience with MAC shadows. I figured these would be less pigmented than my other rainbow palettes (Viseart, LH Cosmetics, Melt, ND) yet buildable, and hoped the mattes would be less chalky than usual for MAC. I’ll have to play with ‘em on my lids to find out. 

Finger-swatched without primer or water. I suspect some of these shades would look more vibrant with a wet brush.

Iridescent Loose Powder shade Golden Bronze - a consolation pick because the highlighter compact I wanted went OOS before I could checkout. I've had this powder on my might-buy list for a while though. It'll be fun to play with. 

Lustreglass Lipstick shade Chili Popper - eh, why not pick up this chili shade in the Lustreglass formula, even though I already have it in other MAC formulas, I mean what’s one more lipstick right? 🤣 I do like the Lustreglass formula as a replacement of the former Lustre formula (which I also liked). 

Frost Lipstick shade St. Marks Yellow - I have the other 2 shades in this Keith Haring collection but resisted this one because I thought it’d be a super sheer yellow gold frost, and I already have 2 of those. The sale + additional promo price made me cave, and I’m pleasantly surprised by how pigmented it swatches! It’s a pastel citrine frost shade that leans whiter/lighter than, say, MAC Frost shade Wild Extract (my favorite citrine yellow lipstick). It’ll be fun to layer and ombré with other shades. 

GWP: pride makeup pouch, Cleanse Off Oil, and a couple foil samples. 

May Polish Pickup order (forgot to post it last month): 

One of these kids is not like the others, one of these kids just doesn't belong...Blueberry Gumdrops is magnetic; polish on the stick stem (instead of the nail) shows how it looks with no magnet used.

Atomic Polish's Sour Apple Rings was mistakenly sent to me instead of Dreamland’s Shake Your Shamrock. I’d contact PPU about the mixup but I’m actually okay with it. I have a Shamrock-similar polish (Phoenix's You Always Be My Sister) coming via a different order:

I've never used a Dreamland polish, but I know and love the Phoenix polishes I've used so far.

Plus, Sour Apple Rings is beautifully bright. Of all the polishes I could’ve received by mistake, I’m glad it’s this one!

e.l.f. Pure Skin Cleanser is quite nice! It has a milky creamy almost-jelly texture and it doesn’t really lather. It doesn’t irritate my eyes or leave my skin feeling stripped. I wouldn’t rely on it alone to remove a full face of makeup, but it does remove Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen with ease. After testing a travel sized tube of this cleanser, I bought myself a full size bottle and will gift the second one to someone in a care package I’m putting together. 

CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is one of the facial moisturizers I rotate through. It also works well at night with certain oil-containing skincare products: it doesn’t make my skin feel super greasy overnight. 

Ulta square cotton pads are their version of Shiseido’s square cotton pads. I usually cut these in half and use them with nail polish remover. (I hate using cotton balls for that job.) Shiseido’s hold together a bit better, but these are a good cheaper option. 

OFRA Highlighter shade Beverly Hills is something I’ve eyed for a looong time. OFRA’s highlighters tend to be glitter bombs. This one’s more subdued with sparkly pinpoints, and that’s exactly what I hoped for.

Both the amika Reset Cleansing Oil 6.7 oz / 200 mL and SEPHORA COLLECTION Vitamin Tonic Cucumber are new to me. Curiosity and the $4 sale price made me buy the cucumber tonic to use on my arms and legs, not my face, though it'd probably be okay for my facial skin. 

Forgot to include in that photo: 

• The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Hyaluronic Acid Scalp Serum 60ml - new to me, haven't tested it yet. 
• Grace Eleyae Satin-Lined Knot Turban Black - haven't tried it on yet but expect it to fit like a cross between my GE satin and silk turbans and GE slaps. 
• Grace Eleyae Nala Print Turban - wore this wax print beauty all day yesterday and I freakin' adore it:

The Sour Apple and Skittle polishes actually look kind cool together. You could have a snack themed manicure with those two.

And I spy CeraVe lotion. I enjoyed that one a lot and went through a few bottles. I’m using their renewing SA lotion right now. And how’s the moisturizing cream? I haven’t seen that one on the shelves here.

Thanks @JoSometimes ! The Polish Pickup theme for May was junk food (PPU has a theme each month), so all the polishes had snack/junk food and candy names. I'd actually use all 3 polishes in the same mani, and probably add 1 or 2 additional polishes to the mix because I'm crazy layering is fun! 

Besides texture, the main difference between CeraVe's cream and lotion is petrolatum, which makes the cream more occlusive than the lotion. (Both products contain dimethicone, but only the cream contains petrolatum.) The cream is thicker and richer feeling than the lotion, but it's not as thick as, say, The Body Shop body butter. I use the cream mostly on my body. I do sometimes use it on my face, mostly in hot weather when parts of my face (usually my undereyes) need extra water loss prevention but Aquaphor or CeraVe Healing Ointment would feel too heavy in the heat. 

I used to use CeraVe's SA lotion on my elbows and legs before I switched to AmLactin lotion. I hope the SA lotion's working well for you! CeraVe's SA line is overall good stuff. I still occasionally use the SA cleanser on my face, shoulders, back, and chest as needed.

@WinglessOne Sweet haul. There are so many fun goodies in there. The palette swatches are so fun. I have been eyeing the Amika cleansing oil. I am interested in hearing your thoughts when you get a chance to try it. The turban looks great on you!
