Nice haul @danielledanielle ! I would love to hear your thoughts on the blue SC mascara.
Please give us the Wayne Goss brush review when you get a chance @danielledanielle ๐ Iโm curious about his new launch
I have used the detailed brush and the angled brush already, so the blush brush is the only one I can't comment on yet, but I will do when I do. I don't have the previous version of these, so I can't compare. Maybe @TraceyEB can.
The detailed brush - I thought this would be smaller, like a softer version of the push liner brush he released not that long ago, but it's a little larger. When I saw it, I immediately thought I bought another Sonia G Flat definer, because they are pretty much the same size and shape. This glides a tad better, it really does have a soft, buttery feel to it. Placement power is just as good as flat definer meaning it goes exactly where you want it. Love this. I used the angled brush to smoke out the color I placed down, The pairing of these two is exactly what I wanted, so I will keep using them in tandem. I could smoke out the color with the detail brush too, but I like how the angle brush diffused more against my crease with a swipe, versus a rubbing back and forth motion. Plus, I think the angle brush will work well in other areas, like along the pocket of my nose + eye, nose contouring, and spot or precision highlighting.
Oooh thx you @danielledanielle @for the detailed review. Put these on my wish list ๐
Love your brush hauls, @danielledanielle , although I try to not study them too closely. ๐
Thank you, @Ispend2much6 (ICON V - WHUT!) that is prob the smarter responsible decision ๐
@danielledanielle Icon 5? Didn't even notice! I'm just here because I love it and, well, you all are "my people." No matter the differences, we build upon a common bond. Wouldn't it be nice if there were more of that in the world?
In order to help me be more wise, could you recommend a favorite bronzing brush for liquids and creams? TIA
Too true @Ispend2much6, too true.
Powdered bronzers are my go to, but I do have a few creams, and funny you should ask
For a liquid, it's either my fingers, a beautyblender or a stippler
Most recent attempt: Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Face 2.0 Teardrop Kabuki Complexion Brush with Uoma's by Sharon C bronzer (more of a soft puddy, but not tacky consistency for a bronzer).
This bronzer is a touch orang-y but still pretty latte or brown colored, which I don't always mind, it gives me a nice "healthy burn" look, ๐คฃ. After asking how to best use this brush Capsule Makeup Collection Challenge 2025 , I used it this morning, and what I liked is that I could buff it seamlessly into the hairline quickly, and because it has a firmness to it, run it along my jawline and buff it in for a mild contour.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Sculpting Bronzer Brush 195- This is nice for a precision laydown because it has a fine point. I use this more with powders, but it can handle a cream.
And by the way of SCIENCE, I have Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Cheek Hugging Bronzer Brush 190 . It really worked well with their cream bronzers, which I am not sure if they re-formulated or discontinued, because it disappeared.
Sonia G Fusion Jumbo Base - This is a dense brush, but it's a good complexion brush in general
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Face 1.0 All Over Complexion Brush - For Foundation, Blush, Bronzer & P...- this is a GOAT level brush. Barely any pick up, can handle all sorts of mediums. Buy 2. Or 3.
Aww, man, there's one more I can't think of at the moment...
Here's more!
Sonia G Mini Sheer Buffer. Reg size buffer is great, but that smaller brush head is sorcery. WHICH works really well with the new PT blushes if you're getting patch @makeitup305 , too, so I think it'd work for any cream bronzer than also lifts makeup or one finds patchy
Liquids - Rare Beauty Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Blush Brush or SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO Foundation Brush #64 would also work. I would opt for rare over 64 just because of the size of the brush head.
@danielledanielle Wow, thank you! I'm going to save this post for reference. And, glad you mentioned the SG Jumbo base; I need a good base brush. And you're right; the SG sheer buffers would be great- I actually have both and didn't even think about using it for bronzer!
@danielledanielle gorgeous brushes! I might use my Beautylish credit on one of WG from the newest collection. I don't have the mini buffer but I have the SG Smooth Buffer and the Soft Buffer, as well as some of hers and WG's other cheek ones. I just realized today that I should probably try setting my face when trying to use the powder. I usually don't and manage fine with other blushes, including those in his formula, but pigment in this specific blush might just fare better over a set base. It's kind of annoying for me considering the price but I love the cream enough to try and make it work. I just bought the new Guerlain blush in the red shade so I want to compare formulas on those!
@makeitup305, I tagged you because I figured you have at least one of the buffers or a comparable stippling brush. Also tagged you if you wanted to chime in on fave brushes for cream bronzer, too.
That is a sound work around, but it's annoying. I read somewhere (here?) that because these are true matte finishes, they are patchy. At first, I accepted it, but then I thought about my other reds (Nars, Kevyn, Juvia's) and only the Juvia behaves like that, so I dunno ๐ง. Agreed, for their price they should behave, period.
I also like fan brushes for those, since they are powders. But, if one wants to do the cream over powder technique with one of these, Sheer Buffer would be my go to. I imagine this is also why there's a new brush, like half fan service and half to deal with the blush ๐ค๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
@danielledanielle I usually use stippling brushes for creams, and I have a few different sizes but many of them aren't available anymore. This week, after washing my entire brush collection, I've been using a Smashbox brush that's kind of similar to the Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Face 1.0 All Over Complexion Brush - For Foundation, Blush, Bronzer & P... , with a slanted edge and have been really enjoying it with the Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Liquid Contour as well as the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand and other creams and even powder blushes. Unfortunately it isn't available any more either but there are lots of similar ones out there these days.
The way I usually apply liquids and creams is warming them up with a finger and then putting it on the back of my hand and going with a brush from from there. Occasionally I will use the finger to do it on my face, depending on the formula. I really like PT's cream formula and don't find it that hard to blend. That red cream in beautiful and I appreciate the slight sheerness of the formula. I actually just returned the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Cheek Tint Blush 41 Flaming Red because I couldn't get it to sheer out without going patchy on me. It was like sheering out a liquid lipstick. I think someone with a deeper skintone than me (not very hard to find lol) will have an easier time because they don't have to thin it out as much to get it to work.
I have other red creams that I had forgotten about (and some that I just picked up ๐) to compare to the PT one. I don't have that many other red blushes since I usually found them to be a little too orange for my taste, like Nars Exhibit A, but I just bought the new Guerlain blush that I also want to compare to the PT. I also bought two duos from Luna, a K-beauty brand, that also have a powder and a cream. I'll let you know how they work out. A patchy red pigment just feels a little cheap to me.
Have you tried BASMA The Cream Blush Cherry Red ? I think the formula is underrated and really like it but I don't have this shade.
@makeitup305, yes that is a good one, too! I do have that one, and I like it a lot. The formula is really slick, but it works and once I figured out the packaging ๐, I found it fun. I think it got lost in the launches of everything. I think they even released a coral shade, and I forgot about it.
@danielledanielle Yep, I think they got lost in the shuffle of overwhelming blush releases. I enjoy mine and still want that red one lol
@danielledanielle Great haul! Customs? Oh no that sounds bad!
Your brushes are really beautiful @danielledanielle . Those darn GWPs get us all! Any thoughts on the mascara yet?
Not yet @Sunnysmom ... Y'all trying to get me to have like five open mascaras in rotation ๐๐
๐ Oh this resonates with me @danielledanielle !
