Holiday Gifting Challenge 2022

It’s officially holiday season here at Sephora, and we’re celebrating with all of our Community friends the best way we know how – by sharing beauty recommendations, of course! 🎁 The Beauty Insider Community always seems to have the best beauty buy, trick, or tip for just about any occasion, and now we’re truly putting you all to the test with a Holiday Gifting Challenge!

Here’s how it works: we polled our Community Ambassadors and had them come up with different hard-to-shop-for people (some of them real, some hypothetical… all very relatable) and turned them into weekly prompts to challenge our Community to brainstorm the perfect gift ideas for each. Each prompt will include two different people or gifts that fit under that overall category -- you can reply with different ideas for both recipients within that prompt, or share ideas for just one of them, or however you feel inspired to participate in this ultimate present-picking challenge. In your replies, be sure to tag those products using the “#” sign -- and don’t forget to come back each week to share your recommendations for the next batch of “giftees!”

I feel like buying mini/sampler sets of Tatcha products is a great intro to the brand since it's so expensive to invest in a full-size without knowing if it's going to be compatible with someone's skintype and that's how I ended up falling in love with Tatcha.  Sets like the Tatcha Dewy Skin Essentials Set or the Tatcha Mini Treasure Set would make great little gifts.

Week 5 (11/29-12/5) – for the skincare aficionado 

I had recently tried a sample of Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial Cream Sunscreen SPF 30 1.7 oz/ 50 ml and was amazed at how it calmed my skin by the end of the day.  So, I tried the Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial Cream Duo and had the same results.

I had also re-started to use Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial Cleanser which has also helped me since my "winter skin" has arrived early.  Honestly, this can also double as a shaving cream if your legs get itchy after shaving.  It's so concentrated that you can emulsify it with water and not use much at all per use.

So, all that to say, I think that Kiehl's Since 1851 Hydrating Winter Wonders would make an excellent gift for just about anybody.

For the skincare aficionado, the FOREO UFO™ 2 . I think this is such a cool device and though you’re supposed to put a little sheet mask on it (that Foreo sells), I just use it over a regular sheet mask and adjust the settings. It’s perfect if someone is both into skincare and gadgets. I also have really enjoyed the FOREO LUNA™ 4 Facial Cleansing & Firming Massage for Balanced Skin (I have an old predecesor) and it’s great if you want that extra clean feeling (and facial massager). If someone you know loved their Clarisonic, this is a great alternative.

For some acne-prone skin, the #Paula's Choice Do More For your Pores and theSkinfix Acne Away Kit + Salicylic Acid + Azelaic Acid + Niacinamide are a great option to try out some products without investing in a full size right off the bat. Paula’s Choice also has a couple of really good kits to help clear up acne and brighten skin, like the Paula's Choice Clear Skin Kit Acne Treatment Kit and Paula's Choice Complexion Clarity Kit .
