Do you have a box full of perfume vials and/or a vanity covered in perfume bottles? Are you the Goldilocks of perfume, just looking for the perfect signature scent? Do you want an opportunity to post daily about how your perfume of the day smells oaky and smoky with hints of blackberry and currant, like a cigar in a whisky barrel rolling through a Mediterranean orchard on a breezy summer morning?
If you answered yes to any of the above, or you just want to hop on board for the ride, join us for a 31 days of perfume challenge starting January 1st! Some of us from the 25 days of lipstick challenge wanted to continue the fun and exploration, and since many of us have so many perfume samples, we thought this challenge would be perfect. If you don't have 31 perfumes or hate everything that doesn't smell like Meyer lemons and fresh goat cream, that's fine--we're just aiming to use the neglected perfumes we have laying around and incorporate them into our perfume rotations.
And if you want more perfume vials, there's no better time than now to take a peek at Sephora's samples section.
Edit: Anyone can join in at anytime! We're here to support, live vicariously through, and encourage everyone in their olfactory adventures!
I liked this one too..sometimes I like to wear a nice fresh scent on a cool crisp winter day.
Day Ten: L'Artisan Parfumer's Premier Figuier Extreme
A verdant, milky fig that's not overly sweet. It reminds me of a luxurious, moisturizing soap more than a gourmand. A beautiful sandlewood takes over the fig in the dry down. Not quite my style, but very pretty and feminine. If you like the notes, I would recommend sampling it.
Day 9: Penhaligon's Quercus
From the website:
Head Notes
Lemon, Lime, Mandarin And Bergamot
Heart Notes
Jasmine, Lily Of The Valley, Cardamom
Base Notes
Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Galbanum, Musk, Amber
It's warmer today, so I wanted something light. I love this one a nice fresh, clean scent.
Day 9: Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy
Day 9- JLo Glow After Dark. I love most of the Jennifer Lopez perfumes, they last on you forever! When my kids were younger, they used to get excited to be able to buy a perfume for me and it was always a Jennifer Lopez one. They stay longer than my higher end scents. It's a nice citrusy, woody scent with an underlying patchouli. I noticed some musk when it dryed down. The only negative thing about this perfume is that if you go for a night on the town and have a few drinks, the smell can "upset" your stomach.
I remember loving the original Glow by JLo when it first came out! I think it was actually one of my first "signature" department store perfumes, aside from Ralph by Ralph Lauren, which is what the grade 8 hallways at my school smelled like because everyone wore it there in 2000
Jan 9: Atelier Cologne Mandarine Glaciale sample vial: I can smell the strong citrus regardless of my stuffing noses (due to a bad cold). Not unpleasant though.
Day 9: Burberry Brit Sheer
Notes:
Bright Yuzu, Pineapple Leaves, Litchi, Mandarin, Grapes, Pink Peony, Peach Blossom, Nashi, White Musk and Creamy Amyris Woods.

This is very light and for some reason on me it smelled a little...soapy? Idk lol. Not my favorite! It might just be how it mixed with my chemisty since it seems to be very popular. I do like the original Burberry Brit better.
Day 8: Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black and White
Day 7: Stella by Stella McCartney
Day 6: Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming
Day 5: Flower by Kenzo
Day 4: Maison Margiela Replica Lipstick On
Day 3: Commodity Gold (LOVE)
Day 2: Moschino Fresh Couture
Day 1: YSL Black OpiumIt's so weird how perfumes smell can smell so different on different people! I have a bottle of this one somewhere, and I get asked about my perfume whenever I'm wearing it. It definitely pulls fruity and not soapy at all on me.
Fragrance is so personal! That's why I love sample vials, I need to know how it's going to evolve on my skin before purchasing it lol.
Day 9- Nest citrine this morning and Mugler angel muse this evening to make up for day 7.I didn't care for angel muse the first few minutes but half an hour later it is nice.
Day 9 Giorgio Armani SI (sample vial)
I think I tried this years ago and didn't like it so for some reason never select it from the samples, but one made its way here and I'm so happy!
Really love black currant notes in my fragrances and this has a sweet but not sickly opening, some florals in the background, kinda musky amazingness! Buying at the end of the challenge for sure!
Ooh, that sounds nice. Might be worth checking out.
Day 9: Woke up to truly cool weather, finally, so I went with my Sahara-in-a-bottle Byredo Bal D'Afrique. It is a dry, woody scent that transports you to places full of life, warmed by bodies clinging tight in merriment and ritual. It's one of my faves, and though it is a very close wearing scent, when the wind catches just right you will turn heads in this elegant, rather unisex fragrance.
I love this scent!
I'm falling off the wagon baaaaad. The last couple days I've been wearing the SAME Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gioia.😳
At least I smell good and something's getting used. I resolve to do better tomorrow.
@heartsmyface You know, if you wake up in the morning and you're excited to wear it and/or it brings you happiness and confidence, if it's what you're really feeling, then you go for it! 😄
Day 9: Louis Vuitton Mille Feux
A gorgeous, sweet scent but had no lasting power on e whatsoever.
Verdict: Would purchase a bottle IF it lasted longer because I love the scent.
Day 9: Dolce & Gabbana – Light Blue
Notes: Sicilian Citron, Bluebell, Granny Smith Apple, Jasmine Sambac, Bamboo, White Rose, Cedarwood, Amber, Musk.
Compiled
Day 8: Escada – Joyful
Day 7: Escada – Born in Paradise
Day 6: Moschino – Moschino Fresh Couture
Day 5: Chanel - No. 5 L'eau
Day 4: Elizabeth & James - Nirvana Bourbon
Day 3: YSL - Black Opium
Day 2: Pacifica - Tunisian Jasmine Lime
Day 1: Juliette Has a Gun - Not a Perfume
I went through a period where i LOVED this perfume! It's one of those scents that's my ride or die and then I need a break from it, but I always know its there if all else fails
