Has a particular scent ever made you feel beachy? Powerful? Downright sultry?! We know fragrance is complex, especially when discussing it here on a beauty forum. With the different formats, notes, and fragrance categories it can feel overwhelming so we want to make it fun to talk about our favorite perfumes, colognes, fragrance oils, candles, and any other products giving off a scent that makes you feel something.
Different fragrances can evoke emotion and memories that may be difficult to articulate so we are starting this thread to make fragrance discussion more approachable and fun for everyone, regardless of your fragrance expertise. Whether it's a cologne that makes you feel warm and cozy or a perfume that has you feeling fresh and clean, we want you to leave comments with photos or descriptions of your favorite fragrances that correspond to each “vibe.” Team BIC will be jumping in to share the vibes different fragrances give us and we hope you will join us in the fun. Now is the time to get creative! 😉
@Carmenatty sorry for the delay here! I have to say that I too LOVE Chanel fragrances. And Juicy Couture! JC perfume and I go way back - those scents takes me back so I guess I'd called it forever young vibes!
I just recently tried #Chanel Chance and LOVE it!!!! Besides that I am a long time#Juicy Couture fan!! They have so many great scents for every occasion!
Last month I celebrated National Fragrance Day by wearing Carolina Herrera Good Girl. I feel really powerful when I wear it, especially after seeing the ad, where Karlie Kloss stomps around New York to Chris Isaak's "Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing" and chaos ensues! I can't say I have a signature scent, but I do love wearing Good Girl and feeling that same moody, witchy, powerful, sorceress vibe!
IKR? It felt like the perfect way to celebrate!
Well it’s 2manyperfumes for a good reason lol. I have so many niche fragrances and they each evoke different moods. I’ll start off with Replica Maison Margiela? They are each so different. My two favourites are Souls of the Forest and Across the Sands. I bought jazz club and fell in love with the black bottles of this brand. I also have Wicked Love, Whispers in the Library, by the Fireplace. Souls of the Forest is my favourite.
I am a fragrance loyalist - for sure. I pick one scent and stick with it until it's discontinued and then I scour the internet looking for every last bottle. (I'm looking at you Coach Legacy Scent.) Recently, I've fallen in love with BVLGARI - Eau Parfumée Au Thé Blanc - to me it smells clean and light with just the right amount of "oh hey, this smells good". (Clearly, my olfactory prowess is superior with descriptions like "smells good". HA!)
@TheGoldenGirl Bvlgari makes some of the best fragrances ever for men & women.
That is loyalty @TheGoldenGirl 👏 I’m the complete opposite and wear different scents daily to suit my many moods. Sometimes I mix them or combine essential oils and single notes. I have the jasmine noir from this brand.
Bobbi Brown Beach Eau de Parfum Fragrance Spray 1.7 oz/ 50 mL or Maison Margiela 'REPLICA' Beach Walk Eau de Toilette with Coconut Milk & Musk 3.4 oz/ 100 mL eau de ... are my go to summer scents for obvious reason LOL.
Other favorites are:
Viktor&Rolf Bonbon Eau de Parfum with Caramel & Peach 1.7 oz/ 50 mL
Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum with Coffee & White Flowers 3 oz/ 90 mL
Maison Margiela REPLICA' Under the Lemon Trees Eau de Toilette with Citrus & Musk 3.4oz/ 100mL
Wonderful brands @AMK721 ❤️, I have a few from V&R and Replica. Beach walk is wonderful and I did have bonbon 💖
Hello everyone, Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Here in Florida it rained all day, which is great because my garden needed that!
As for fragrance, I collect mini's. I've been a perfume-aholic for decades. My favorites are ones that make me feel hungry and satisfied at the same time. Fruity scents. Anything edible. Peach. Pear, apple, watermelon, lime, lemon, yes cutris, blood orange. Cake or creme brulee sugary sweet caramel scents, vanilla of coarse! I'm into vegan brands more than ever. Some not sold here at Sephora yet, and discovery of the ones that are. Some things that make perfumes and colognes not vegan could be deer white musk hormones, but it seems many brands are using a synthetic one. Also I've stoped investing in my past favorite brands like Michael Kors that are actually leather good dealers, cow leather purses. That made me sad. Sometimes I make exceptions. Some all vegan brands Sephora carries is The 7 Virtues, ELLIS BROOKLYN. a few others that are possibly vegetarian because Honey is from bees. Also some formulas are vegan but their names are not, they use names like cashmere, silk, milk, pearl, or use leather decorations like how cloe and atalier do on the bottles.
I also love florals, jasmine, rose, gardenia. Although those can be obnoxious if not combined right or if they are super concentrated. My most recent fragrance purchase was a brand I discovered because of Sephora, Tocca. I bought all of their laundry soaps from the brands website, during mothers day and got a free tuscan tomatoe vine candle, I mean YEAH! Many lotions are basically creme concentrated fragrances so I wear them on my elbows. If I wear them on my wrist they get washed away. So I now find creative places instead.
* I stole my first dabber from my grandmother. She had a vanity tray table with an avon gingerbread house glass jar. I took it without asking permission as a momento when visiting. I helped myself, lol. I was about 8 years young. That started my love of aromatherapy. I never wore it, just kept it as a reminder.
My rescue cat PolarBear aka PBear also helps me sniff test new scents. If he likes them he sniffs twice and his nose works. If he doesn't like it he turns his head away, LoL. He always is ready to test my fingertips when I try new products. Plus it's probably good to stimulate his brain now that he is kept indoor only. ######My GrandmotherTOCCA - Mini Discovery Collection Set
Aww that is such a pretty photo of your grandmother @KomediAnne ❤️, we are in a heat wave but it did rain. I’ve loved scents from childhood too. Sadly I hated the perfumes my mother liked and to this day I can’t stand the smell of youth dew by Estée Lauder. Literally if I were to be asked that question in my sleep (name the one perfume I just can’t stand it’s Youth Dew). I think there was a Dior and Nina Ricci perfume that I couldn’t stand either. My mom loved florals and I loved the smell of baked breads, cookies and cake. Food and spices, woodsy, ambers, Pumpkin, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla, ouds, tobacco, coffee, vetiver, verbena, figs, cedar wood, sandalwood, incense, jasmine, honeysuckle, butterscotch, caramel, whiskey, sage, cloves, patchouli, bergamot, dragon’s blood, chocolate, Cocoa, Moroccan rose, cherry, apricots, blackberry, coconut, almond, licorice, fennel, pear, neroli, ylang-ylang. I love essential oils and niche fragrances the most. I also like indie brands and unusual ones. Love Tokyo Dark. I’m trying to get through a good portion of my collection so I only buy travel size ones now except if I love a fragrance. Okay it’s a perfume obsession and I can smell different notes and remember them. I can also smell many perfumes and not be overwhelmed and unable to tell them apart. Still a pungent floral I can’t do. I had a friend decades ago who had her own perfumery boutique and it was a lot of fun. I was able to order the display (sample bottles) and it became an obsession. Thankful my hubby loves scents himself and we are similar most of the time. He even took my Bulletproof from Tokyo Dark. Now he loves Sauvage by Dior and it smells amazing.
@KomediAnne I really like the Tocca fragrances as well.
