Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

Fragrance Vibes GIF.gif

Has a particular scent ever made you feel beachy? Powerful? Downright sultry?! We know fragrance is complex, especially when discussing it here on a beauty forum. With the different formats, notes, and fragrance categories it can feel overwhelming so we want to make it fun to talk about our favorite perfumes, colognes, fragrance oils, candles, and any other products giving off a scent that makes you feel something.

Different fragrances can evoke emotion and memories that may be difficult to articulate so we are starting this thread to make fragrance discussion more approachable and fun for everyone, regardless of your fragrance expertise. Whether it's a cologne that makes you feel warm and cozy or a perfume that has you feeling fresh and clean, we want you to leave comments with photos or descriptions of your favorite fragrances that correspond to each “vibe.” Team BIC will be jumping in to share the vibes different fragrances give us and we hope you will join us in the fun. Now is the time to get creative! 😉

Time to channel some vibes! Let us know one of your favorite fragrances or leave a photo inspired by one of your current favorite fragrance vibes.

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@minakne I am obsessed with YSL Libre! I agree it's one of the most long-lasting scents I've used and a little goes a long way 🙂

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@KatieBT I am trying the newest VS Bombshell perfume in Intense.  Love the fruity scent it has.

I love JUICY COUTURE - Viva La Juicy Rosé

MAC Turquatic, BBW to the Beach, all the VS Bombshell scents

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

Oh thanks for sharing @SportyGirly125 ! I want to try out the JUICY COUTURE - Viva La Juicy Rosé - what fragrance vibe do you get from this scent? The name alone makes me think of summer travel but I'll have to test it out to confirm  🙂

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@KatieBT the vibes that I get with the fragrance is sexy, sensual, first dates with my husband.

Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

Beachy? Bobby Brown beach. Omg I love this scent. I dont see it online anymore. I wonder if you guys stopped carrying it? I love this soooooo much. I also love Sunday morning by replica. And my new fall favorite is Joe Malone velvet rose & oud...

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@Stephanieh1980 I do remember smelling this scent at Sephora back in the day and getting transported to a beach in the middle of summertime!

I haven't tried Sunday Morning or Velvet Rose and Oud... Any particular "vibes" they give you? Do they bring up any positive memories?

RE: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

All of the women in my family are known for having their own signature scent. When I hear a perfume name from bygone days it takes me straight back to these amazing women and memories. Examples- ‘Charlie’ or ‘ Bluegrass’. Crazy how smell can connect us to those times. My signaturescent since entering into my 40’s is Donna Karan’s ‘Cashmere Mist’. I’venever known anyone else that wears it and when searching for a new scent this one ticked all the boxes for me. It made me feel grown up andstrong, but soft all at the same time. A truly feminine fragrance.Lately I’ve been exploring scent and came across ‘Cannabis Santal’ and ‘Dylan Blue’ and I’m loving them both. I’m turning 50 next year and just purchased a bottle of these, maybe my new signature scent? Will see!!!

Re: RE: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@Captain1970 I love that all the women in your family have their own signature scent! I agree that fragrance can be connected to a period of your life - for me JUICY COUTURE - Viva La Juicy brings back so many joyous memories and reminds me of Lancome Juicy Tubes and being so carefree!

Oooh I am intrigued by FRESH - Cannabis Santal - I didn't realize Fresh made fragrance! I would love to hear about your experience with the scent and to learn more about the overall fragrance vibes you experience while wearing this scent 🙂

Re: RE: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

That’s crazy, Juicy Couture is my daughters signature scent, she’s 26 and has been wearing it for afew years now. I can’t smell it without thinking of her 👃🏽 It’s a young, happy fragrance and I totally get why people love it.

I had never heard of Cannabis Santal until I looked up cannabis in search on Sephora. I knew that Milk makeup had been infusing it into their products and wanted to give some of them a try.  I was intrigued so into the cart it went 😉

CS is a deeper, darker scent...there’s a lot of spice in it if that makes any sense. I wouldn’t describe it as pretty or feminine but a strong frangrance...suitable for any gender and probably not so attractive to the younger set.  Maybe I’m wrong but to me it feels very ‘grownup’ and serious...kind of like Cliniques ‘Aromatics Elixir’ which is my Mother’s signature scent 😋

I highly recommend this fragrance, even to someone younger for fall/winter? ️

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

Perfume is hands-down my favorite accessory @KatieBT !

I love GUERLAIN - Mon Guerlain when I have an important business meeting.  Serious 'power suit' vibes 💪👠

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@RachFace2921 power suit vibes... I love it!! I could use a powerful scent in my fragrance wardrobe - I'll need to give this a sniff next time I'm in Sephora.

RE: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

Current daily fave Florabunda perfume oil from Anthropologie. Warm floral. No bad chemicals as far as I know. Not headache inducing. Great quality. Affordable. Pretty, artsy, charming bottle. Like aromatherapy. I always feel happier and more productive wearing it. When I want a more professional sophisticated floral that doesn’toverpower a room, my go to is Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia from Sephora which is avery soothing calming scent to bearound. I’m already halfway through the bottle and I haven’t even had it that long.

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

I’m enjoying cozy fragrances that have coldness to them. Jo Malone nailed it, but that makes sense because the English are warm, but keep their distance.

JO MALONE LONDON - Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@howconnie myrrh & Tonka is a great unisex cold weather scent!

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@KatieBT I have an obsession with vintage fragrances, especially Chanel and Guerlain.  They can be too much, and a little out there but I also like old books, wine and china.  Looking to today, the Bum bum cream makes me smile.  It's addictive.  I will never stop using Bobbi Brown Beach in the summer (memories; obsessed).  And, recently I have been loving Armani Si, though I vacillate between that one and Chanel (5, Noir and Coco).  Looking for links, I saw Gabrielle, a new Chanel.  Reading about it, I think it's a need.

Fragrance is a foundation and a must.  It reminds me that life is truly a lovely thing.

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

I'm currently obsessed with Atelier Cologne Philtre Ceylon. I bought a bottle at an Atelier boutique while visiting family in New York and had my name engraved on the leather case, which makes the perfume bottle even more special. But, for me, fragrance isn't as much about how they make me feel, but how they evoke memories. And tea fragrances especially, since I grew up with a dad who always has a glass jar of loose leaf black tea and a mom who always has a pot of green tea around. But this particular fragrance, with its hint of mint, reminds me so much of drinking a glass of sweet, mint tea at a carpet shop in Fez's medina that I fell in love with the cologne immediately and had to buy a bottle. It's fresh, yet mysterious with its hint of smoke, and I just love it.

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@KatieBT

When I wear red lipstick I always spritz on JULIETTE HAS A GUN - MMMM…

it gives me Smokey eye sultry vibes (if that’s a thing)

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@KatieBT I recently tried Pacifica's French Lilac and while I didn't care for the scent overall, I did get lost in the lilac note.  I know lilac is a spring scent, but I could wear it year round.  It has such a calming effect on me.  I've always looked forward to the lilac bushes flowering, and would play near them as a child.  As an adult, I've even opted to walk home from work on occasion just to be able to smell the lilac blooming around my neighborhood.  I'm fortunate that so many people have it growing.  I really should plant my own!

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@greeneyedgirl107 I love lilacs!  I used Gucci guilty for awhile because it had some lilac in it. Then I bought Tory Burch just like heaven because it had a lot lilac. Then I read fragantica descriptions of the scent which likened it to bathroom air freshener and now I see the connection and just like heaven is ruined for me. 😂

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

@itscarin I got a sample of TORY BURCH - Just Like Heaven

and thought the lilac was underplayed.  😞  I'm considering getting a Demeter lilac scent just so I can get all the lilac I want.

Re: Let's Talk Fragrance Vibes

I recently tried the HdP Opera set, and it definitely made me feel like one of the old high society women who went to those things back in the late 1800's to early 1900's.
