I always suggest to follow your lower lash lines natural angle upwards.

@cadesbit looks like you have a slight hood/ crease tuck and a thick lower lid- whish is what mine look like too. My personal feeling is that my eyes always look wonky when I line the inside of my lower lid, and they look most open when I line the top lid and the brightest spot is at the center of my lid vs a more ombre from the inner corner like you see a lot in eye looks on IG/Youtube/Pinterest/etc.
