Basic Eyeliner and shadow

Hi, this may sound ridiculous, but I really don’t know how to apply liner or eyeshadow.  Any basic tips would be great.  Currently I use liquid liner on my upper lid but that’s it.  Thanks in advance!

TY so much!  I’m not sure if I should use a thick or thin line...Or if I should use anything on my lower lid?  I want my makeup to be up to date (for my age, I’m 50 if that matters).

 It's really about what makes you comfortable. I'm about to hit the big 57, and I wear all kinds of liner looks. But here below is a link to a great tutorial on eyeshadow/makeup from Angie. @MarcyH925 @Easiest way to to use a kohl pencil and draw little dots along the lash line and connect them and then apply the liquid liner on top.
