Unused gift card says 0 balance

Hello, my friend got me a $50 gift card for my birthday and I went ahead to apply it in the checkout and it says the gift card value is $0.00. I have never used this gift card before. Can someone help?

Did anything come of this? I received a store credit gift card two weekends ago with a receipt confirming the amount refunded, but the same thing just happened to me when trying to use the gift card and the website says there's a $0.00 balance.

Was there any resolution? There are a lot of people who received gift cards at Christmas only to have the money on the card disappear? I have $100 gift card that now has $0 even though I haven’t used it. Sephora needs to take accountability.

The same thing just happened to me with a card that was purchased this year in February for my birthday, I sent an e-mail yesterday about it and have yet to hear back, what is happening with all of these purchased cards that now have $0.00 balances?
