Sephora says "Shipped", but USPS still shows "Pre-Shipment" status... 6 days without updates

I placed an order on 12/6 and received an email from Sephora on 12/9 that my order was shipped.

It is now 12/15, and the USPS page still shows "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item."

This is my first time to deal with such situation and I just don't know what to expect. 

I wonder if it's just Sephora being super slow during the holidays, or if my order / package got lost during the process. 😕

Hi everyone, my package FINALLY arrived today, 1/11/2021. So it took a little more than a month for my package to arrive at my home. I just hope this was just an unfortunately exceptionally delayed delivery and won't happen again.

[Update as of 1/3/2021]:

On December 21, the USPS page for the shipment FINALLY updated its status to: "Arrived at USPS Regional Origin Facility" in Memphis, TN. But the status has NOT changed since then. It's January 3, 2021 today and I still have not received my package. 

I understand that everything is slow due to the current circumstances, but this is still very frustrating especially since I placed my order on December 6, obviously in order to receive the items before Christmas. 😞

I am having the exact same issue. Did you ever receive your package? I’m so frustrated. No stocking stuffers at my house. 😞 I will not be ordering from Sephora again. I have been a Sephora customer for 20 years since they opened the NYC store.

I also placed an order initially on Nov 30, worth $400+, that was expected to be delivered on Dec 09. My order was shipped from Missisauga to Montreal, not sure for what reason as that was not the province of destination and tracking # did not show any progress other in transit after arrival in montreal. I was mentally prepared for little delay in receiving my order due to busy season of the year. When I did not receive my order until Dec 13, I gave them a call and I was told that my order has been placed on hold due to a set of brush in my order out of stock that did not make any sense to me as why otherwise it was showing as shipped and in transit status for past few days. When I asked them for further clarification and why I was not notified until now when I am calling so the response was that they do not receive any notification  if something goes out of stock themselves. I would at least expect a courtesy of calling my customer to notify them with shipping delay or any change.

I was given options if I would like to have partial delivery of my order now  or I want to cancel it to get refund. I thought let's go with partial delivery and when that remaining brush set becomes available, they can ship it to me. Advisor suggested me to get refund of the brush set as that would be better option for me and I can get remaining order delivered to me. I was like sure, let's  go this way, thinking at least I would get the rest of it latest by this week. I had to buy some other stuff too  from Sephora so I was like I can take any alternative set option when making my next purchase.

I received email last monday, mentioning about shipping it in 1-2 days and when I received tracking # yesterday (Wednesday), it has been showing just as shipped with no progress there. Current ETA it shows is for 24 Dec. When I called them yesterday to find out why I have to wait for another week until the day just before Christmas if rest of my order was already in transit for more than a week ago from now, I was told that order has been shipped now again from another location and when I asked if they can confirm me I would receive it till 24 Dec because this is a gift and I am expecting  it to receive before Christmas holiday, I was told that it is too early for them to confirm me the status of my shipment. 

This was my first  online purchase with Sephora and my experience  has not been good already. I am not even sure now if I would be even able to receive this before 25 Dec. Very much disappointed!

I have the same situation.

I ordered on December 6th and Sephora says it was shipped on December 8th.  It also says to expect delivery by December 14th.  Well, it's the 16th and USPS still says it is in pre-shipment, awaiting package.  I've emailed the company but have not yet received a response.

Same! ordered on December 9th no one is giving any help still says pre shipment We were supposed to get it on the 18th then the 19th then the 21st it’s now the 21st and usps says they have no package well (preshipment) from Sephora...this is insane! This is my daughters gift for Christmas it’s already been a terrible year why not have anything under the tree to top it off!
