Return policy

Hi.. I would like clarification on the return policy.  On 2-22 I purchased an item.  The item was not the correct color.  So I returned the item which I paid for by debit card with my receipt and told the associate that I will get another 2 items and she used the amount from the first return and applied it to the 2 items and I paid the difference.  One of the 2 items I had to return due to an allergic reaction.  I had the item for less than a week.  When I went to return the item with both the original receipt and the new receipt I was told that I would have to get a store credit. Is this correct? Store policy states I can get my return in the original form of payment.  But she said I can’t due to the 2nd receipt showing that I used the amount from

the first purchase toward the 2nd purchase.  I have both receipts and both are under 30

days.  I haven’t made a return at Sephora in years.   What is the policy?  The manager was pretty rude.

Re: Return policy

Hi.  I hope all is well.  I actually didn’t return the item as store credit I returned the item with my receipt but I purchased another item and I guess the associate used the return and maybe I did it as a store credit.  My receipt says returned with receipt.  I happens to return an item and instead of getting my money back I purchased another item. But that item gave me an allergic reaction so when I went back and returned it they said I couldn’t get my original form of payment back but that I  had to get a store credit.

Re: Return policy

@Tmaj  If you exchanged an item instead of having it refunded to your debit card, that second purchase would show in our system as be paid for with store credit, which is why you were issued a merchandise credit. I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience in store and if you'd like, we can file a store complaint on your behalf and have someone reach out. If you would like to proceed with this, please send me a private message with your registered email address.

Re: Return policy

@Tmaj, I'm sorry to hear this! It sounds like the items were exchanged, meaning the original items were returned as a store credit, which was then used towards the purchase of the new items. This would explain why the payment method of the new items is a store credit and not your debit card. I apologize for any disappointment this may cause.
