Gift card problems

My niece Tried to use a $100 gift card I purchased from Sephora store. 
1st issue - the card could not be used 2 weeks after purchase. Called Sephora and they said it was not activated and allow 2 days for activation. On day 3 still was not working and called back and was told to allow 2 more days. Waited a week after and card showed balance. 
2nd issue -  she purchased items totaling just over $110.  When paying entered the card and another payment method for the balance. Well it drained the $100 from the gift card AND still took the entire $110 + from her card when it should have only taken the difference. We are done with Sephora after this. There are too many places that sells the same items. No reason for me to have to deal with this aggravation!  She had to wait for an agent for a long time. She cancelled the order and was told to wait 3 days to get her money back and the money back on the gift card. Once the money is back on the card she will go to the store and use it. After this, we are done with Sephora.  The time and frustration is not worth it. It’s as if we are doing them a favor by giving them business.
