Getting Points from a Receipt

Hi, I made a Sephora purchase yesterday in store and due to their system being down I was told to contact customer service so I can get my points from this purchase. I called customer service a few minutes ago and they told me they couldn’t help with this request and told me to call the store I made my purchase. I just called the store and they couldn’t help me either and told me it’s a customer service question and the only option is to come into the store again to do a return and then purchase the items again.

wondering if anyone could help! I did have my receipt!
