Can't use more than 2 gift cards online?

I've noticed this problem goes all the way back to 2012, I'm pretty disappointed that Sephora still doesn't give the option for more to be added, especially because I'll have to go into the store now instead - miss out on the free samples, and I won't be able to buy the one product that I wanted because it's only online and I didn't want to split up my payments/orders because I would end up having to pay more that way.

I know now to just ask for the cash instead of a gift card next time...

I placed an order over the phone using a few giftcards. 72 minutes later, the order was canceled. 

I placed the same order again 2 more times OVER THE PHONE, all confirmed by the representative... and shortly after, the order was canceled, and then the order was canceled again. then my account was LOCKED for 3 days due to internal review. I asked if it had notes ... the customer service person PUT ME under review based on my maiden name being on the sephora account- I set up my sephora account in 2007!...my credit card approved the order... but a random person rejected it an hour after it was confirmed? 

I went in person, advised by customer service during my FOURTH call to sephora... the store said "sorry we can only apply 2 giftcards in person". I'm sorry, WHAT? She then proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay for expedited shipping to get the product before my vacation. 

It's my money- why in the world would you limit someone spending their money at your store? We save up to make some of these big purchases... I guess it's not worth your customer support. 

I have successfully avoided sephora for a while now because I had a very very very bad experience buying a hair dryer. but, I got gift cards and wanted to splurge on a skin care tool - 

my mistake. 

and I still don't have my order... and now a pile of gift cards that Sephora wont let me use.

I had 3 back to back attempts at the phone order - all 3 canceled about an hour after placing it on the phone and getting a confirmation email and everything. 

And no one gives a sh**. I was even told "well you can pay to have it expedited" because I passed the 2pm cutoff for the date from the original order. The store said they can't help me because they are limited to 2 gift cards. The last customer service person advised I go to the store. 

I still don't have my order placed. and now i'm "under review" and my account is on hold because of my name not being the same as the recipient's name? I asked how this happens, and the rep said an employee CHOSE to put me under review. My name is Kissondra.... Sephora is a joke. I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is with my name. 

I have never blasted a company like this, but this is so unreal.

I can't believe this still isn't fixed! I have 3 gift cards to use, and now I have to take time out of my day to place an order over the phone?? It's 2019, Sephora. Get it together.

I just spoke with a Sephora representative. Unfortunately you can only apply two gift cards at a time. Disappointing 😕

Yeah, I wish they would move to being able to use multiple gift cards online as well, but Helen is right in that you can multiple cards if you call in.  You may have to tell them to verify it with their supervisor though.  I believe I used 8 last April when the 20% off sale was going on, but the person who answered initially told me I could only use the 2.  I pointed out that their website stated differently and he checked with a supervisor who confirmed for him that I could use up to 10.  

Under Payment Methods in the Customer Service section it states: 

You can use up to two Gift Cards, eGift Cards and/or eGift Certificates per online order. You can use up to ten Gift Cards, eGift Cards, and/or eGift Certificates per online order by contacting Customer Service at 1-877-SEPHORA.

I apologize for any confusion regarding how many gift cards can be used online. Two can be used online, however, if you call in one of our phone agents can add more than 2 during the time of your online purchase! I hope this helps 🙂

With covid-19 happening, it should be a priority to fix this. That way we can minimize having to have an agent to talk to + putting an obstacle on your customers to put in an order. I have been dreading/avoiding having to put in the purchase because of the workaround, and I can image others might also be and that will be $$$$ lost down the line.

Over 6 months since the last reply from a customer service rep and this policy is still in effect. I had 4 gift cards I wanted to use towards a purchase, where I would be buying $60 of items and had $45 in gift cards. I do not have the time to wait 45 minutes on the phone to have someone grant me access to use all 4 gift cards. Now I have to pay $25 off my own card instead of the $15 I was expecting. Honestly, this makes me not want to shop at Sephora. I can get most of the same stuff at Ulta for cheaper and not have to call customer service and take time and energy out of my day just to use gift cards that were purchased from Sephora anyway! Like you were already paid by someone purchasing the gift card; what do you gain from making it more difficult for me to use them in one purchase? Getting me to come back for another trip with the chance I might buy more stuff? Because now I'm mad and am going to go out of my way not to buy from Sephora again.

This is ridiculous, literally any other website you can add as many gift cards you have. I just called and the store rep had absolutely no idea that I could use more than 2 and didn't know how to help me - so stop replying to us saying to just call in. What a stupid policy

Super frustrating...now I have to call to order and I can barely understand your customer service reps...and I can't get my Rakuten cash back.  This should be an easy fix for you.  Looks like it's been an issue for years.

and it's still a joke. 

I have 4 gift cards to use towards a large purchase- my order keeps getting canceled over an hour after confirmation and payment are approved (for the $ over the gift card amount). and, shocker- NO OTHER WAY TO PROCESS THE ORDER BUT OVER THE PHONE.

The phone rep LOCKED my account for review because of the name I put on my sephora account in 2007- I got married.. 
they are GIFT cards.... 

If the CREDIT CARD company approves my purchase because I'm able to pass their security check, and your workers confirmed my names, addresses, phone numbers, so I went in person to resolve the discrepancy. The manager would not talk to me. she kept sending out an employee. to tell me they cant help me at all. that I have to call the number and place the order in 3 days when my review is complete. 

what in the world are you doing at sephora. it's 2024!!!!!!!!!!!!
