Beauty Insider advent calendar 2024

Spoiler
Spoiler

I am extremely disappointed with Sephora right now.  I’ve been saving my points for a long time, hoping to score something special or at the very least cash in 2,500 points for $100 off an order. When I noticed last week the calendar posted for 2,500 points, I was careful to read all of the description so I could make an educated decision.  Ultimately, because the description said it ‘was not a Sephora product’, I decided to cash in my points.  The description says that it ‘contains, makeup, skincare, bath products, and tools’.  In reality, it contains 24 ‘tools’ that are 100% Sephora branded.  There is not a single makeup, skincare, or bath product in the box.  To add insult to injury, my box was missing 6 items.  I’ve included a picture of the back of the box. My daughter crossed out the picture of our missing items.  Customer Service said their hands are tied and there is nothing they can do and it is not a guarantee that I would even receive all products listed on the back of the box. This is unacceptable and false advertising!  I completely understand that it’s a mystery.  However, the mystery should follow the guidelines set forth in the advertisement of the product.  I know that Sephora won’t care about losing me as a customer, even being Rouge. But, this has left such a sour taste in my mouth, that I would rather purchase straight from the manufacturer or another competitor unless this issue is resolved.  The customer support person I spoke with was very polite and understood my concerns but shared that management has stated no refunds, point adjustments, etc. were allowed on this item whatsoever.  I understand that policy and would be satisfied with the rule if the item was sent complete and followed the description advertised.  I am including a photo of the advertised product as well as the back of the box.

Re: Beauty Insider advent calendar 2024

**UPDATE TO POST BELOW** Sephora made it right! They found a way to get my points back and I could not be happier. The support that came from the community forum far surpassed what I got when I called. Thank you to @DaneeBT for being the Sephora rep that I hoped to find sooner. ** I could it agree more and had the same terrible experience. From feeling completely duped and lied to about what I was getting in an exclusive Beauty Insider mystery box that was supposedly not Sephora related. IT’S ALL SEPHORA RELATED and quite frankly not worth a fraction of the points I redeemed for it that are gone forever - bc apparently there is no way in the universe to get them back. They go into a Sephora vortex. Seems odd for being 2024. I’m glad Ulta is starting to carry more high end brands and they have the drug store versions as well. At least their reward system is straight forward - dollars for points. No way to get duped with something that is “special”.

Re: Beauty Insider advent calendar 2024

100%!!  I just saw another post that said that influencers on social media are getting their points refunded. I need to research that further because that is not acceptable.  I am so upset about the deception and I’m willing to die on this horse.  We can’t give up.  I truly believe that the right person in charge has to be unaware of this debacle that is trying to be swept under the rug.  It’s principle. We don’t expect to be scammed by a company that we love and are loyal to!   We all get the real of mystery boxes..:but, in this case we were all deceived by a false description.  This needs to be fixed.
