Need a new curly routine

Hello! Okay so I have 3A-3B hair. My hair is super dry but easily weighed down. I’m looking for a completely new routine because the one I’m doing obviously isn’t working because I barely have any curl just frizz and puff 😞 here’s what I use: -Bumble and bumbles hairdressers invisible oil sulphate free shampoo -Bumble and bumble hairdressers invisible oil conditioner -Ouai smooth spray as a leave in -Moroccan oil brand oil -Twice a month I do a coconut oil mask Any suggestions help, I’m down to try anything at this point, I just want to be able to love my curls.

Re: Need a new curly routine

I have similar hair texture to yours

I usually use shea moisture black castor oil leave in conditioner

followed by a gel (curl keeper original, deva curl ultra defining gel, dippity do gel are one of my favs)

followed by a cream (only if needed, so like cantu curl activating cream or shea moisture smoothie)

and usually put oil on my ends..

thats it.. dont ever touch ur hair while drying, this is also key for frizz..

satin pillow or bonnet is good too for sleeping on ur curls.

try shea moisture low porosity protein free line, they have a shampoo, conditioner and leave in that works really well. They also have a raw shea butter deep treatment mask that is good. For a little hold/definition without hardening or drying out your curls try Cantu moisturizing twist & lock cream gel works great

You should love your curls!  You can get there, I'm sure! I'm a 3a and I love Curl Keeper. I don't love the Morocconoil products; they are full of silicones, which aren't oils at all.

I found this article for you.... it suggests a routine for 3a/3b curly hair. https://goo.gl/bR1RZB

Re: Need a new curly routine

Around the holiday I got a sephora pack of hair masks and tested them out on my hair to see which products did it for me. Because everyone's hair is different even if it looks the same it can still be pretty different. Then i bought a few other hair products from that brand. Ouai, Bumble and Bumble and Living Proof all didn't work for my hair. Verb and DevaCurl gave me the best results.

I don't think they sell the pack anymore but this might be close.

This is what worked me. I use VERB nourishing shampoo and conditioner. Once out of the shower I follow up with garnier fructis morracan sleek oil (or you can go for the verb ghost oil) every day on my ends. My main masks are the DevaCurl Matcha Mask and a regular oil mask. But I suggest getting a tester pack to see what works for you.

Have you tried anything else from the Ouai line? The entire line is incredible! Their mask is fabulous...use 1x a week, the finishing creme works great for your ends, and of course their curl shampoo and conditioner. And their hair oil helps to control frizz and smells great! Another thing to try is Vavoom Hold My Body gel. It is a firm hold. I love the way it controls frizz and sets my curls. I put it on damp hair and use when it is rainy or very humid outside, but I know gels are not for everyone. Curls Rock Curl Amplifier mixed with an oil is great too! Lastly, the Redken Frizz Dismiss Rebel Tame leave-in smoothing control cream. I like this product as you can use it on damp or dry hair! Hope this helps, I feel your struggle and am constantly looking for new products. I have spent a ton of money on products for my hair and have been left disappointed with most of them. I have to say that the Ouai line is my new go to, but I still use the others I mentioned. Hope this helps!

RE: Need a new curly routine

Hey. Sorry I neglect my hair so I don’t have any help. Maybe try a YouTube video. I know there’s a lot about co-washing and non chemical products and moisturizers. But I’m not sure. But I wanted to know more about the coconut oil mask. How do you do it?

RE: Need a new curly routine

I use either a coconut mask from Walmart that has keratin, silk and a bunch of natural and organic ingredients that make my hair super soft and it’s like $3. I leave that one on for about 15 minutes while I’m in the shower after I shampoo. If I don’t have any of those packs I just use plain cold pressed coconut oil on dry hair and I put it in a bun and leave it on for as long as I can handle, about an hour is good but there’s nothing bad with leaving it on longer but the longer the better. Hope this helped 🙂 and yeah YouTube is really good I’ve been getting a lot of info from Instagram too!
