Translucent Setting Powder Suggestions??

what are y’all’s favourite setting powders these days??? I was a hardcore Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Longwear Setting Powder Translucent  fan and still have my lil holiday one with the puff from like 3 years ago - I’m finding with my dry/combination skin and new fine lines and wrinkles, it doesn’t sit very nicely on my face as it did when I was 22🤷🏼‍♀️
I’m currently deciding between Anastasia Beverly Hills Translucent Loose Setting Powder

Shiseido Synchro Skin Invisible Silk Loose Setting Powder Radiant

Lancôme Long Time No Shine Loose Setting Powder Translucent

Hourglass Veil™ Translucent Setting Powder - Talc Free Translucent

shoot me your suggestions!😍

Re: Translucent Setting Powder Suggestions??

@aStew11  I don't wear liquid/cream foundation so I can't vouch for setting powders locking that in place all day. But I do use concealer very strategically under my eyes and I sometimes spot conceal elsewhere on my face, and I usually powder-set my concealer. On my mostly-dry combo skin, my oily zone is just on and around my nose; that's where I sometimes use powder to tame shine without super-mattefying my face. Oh, and I'm in my 50s. 🙂

My 2 favorite setting powders that don't cake up my skin (provided I don't slack on my hydration-heavy skincare routine):

Before I tweaked my skincare routine to reduce oil overproduction around my nose, I used Lancôme Long Time No Shine Loose Setting Powder Translucent  for oil control in that area. That powder leaves a matte finish, unless Lancome has reformulated it since I stopped using it.

Re: Translucent Setting Powder Suggestions??

Omg I was a die hard Laura Mercier fan as well. I always just got it because people said it was the best… I didn’t realize it was making me so pale!!

I just switched to the Huda one and omggg it’s sooo much better!! It has a bit more coverage and makes my skin look better!  It doesn’t make me pale and actually makes it look matte. I’m in love.

Re: Translucent Setting Powder Suggestions??

Right!?!

I was just going by the word of my one friend that was into makeup when I lived in the city, I had no idea what I was doing (still don’t), it was easier to get away with when I was younger + had better skin and spent all my time in bars either working or partying. And like 6/7 years ago a super matte face was in… I think haha.

But when I moved on from that little era I totally started to see how CAKEY that stuff instantly makes me look and feel ugh. And like you said, so dang pale haha. I went with the hourglass loose powder this time so we’ll see how that takes when it arrives - but will definitely keep Huda in mind, love knowing there’s another option or two out there, and thank you so much for your recommendation!
