A thread dedicated to Wayne Goss brushes and cosmetics line.
Wayne has created a Collector's Edition Face Set (Brushes 1-5) and Eye Set (Brushes 6-13).
Note: Brush 1 is a larger, thicker version of his infamous AIR BRUSH. Brush 2 is an updated version of Brush 02 from his original and first Anniversary collections.
Specific detail about the hair/fibres in each brush is below. Updated launch date is Wed, January 15; brushes ship on or after Jan 20 per Beautylish.
More detail about the 13 brushes and pricing. Brushes have been loaded to Beautylish. Note: Brush 5 is Wayne's first angled brush, so I expect it will be popular. Brush 3 is a round brush; he released one in the original eye set and one of my favourite brushes.
Brush 2 totally looks like the air-brush, but it's not in the page description as such 🤔
@danielledanielle , inspiration mystery about Brush 1 and 2 solved. In the detailed description below each brush Wayne writes
- Brush 1: "a larger version of the iconic Air-Brush, it perfectly fits into the contours of the cheek to sculpt, buff, and bake to airbrushed-looking perfection."
- Brush 2: "Similar to the original Brush 02, this super-soft powder brush features uniquely tapered bristles for contour, blush, highlighter, and precision powder."
@danielledanielle, I think Wayne is referring to the more rounded Brush 02, which he launched in his first collection (and included in the anniversary collection). He launched a white goat hair Brush 10, which was Brush 02 for liquids. He commented that this launch is inspired by his first collection and the original eye and face sets, which date to 2013 and 2014. The Air Brush launched in 2016. He also doesn't show the buffing technique when demonstrating the new Brush 2. I thought Brush 1 in the new collection looked more like an updated Air Brush, but he didn't suggest the buffing technique with that one either. 🤔
Thanks for all the updates, I did see the description under brush 1, but felt that 2 looked closer to it given its size. Good point about the release dates, so brush 2 being an updated version makes more sense.
Coming soon, the Collector's Edition. Sign up for the launch via Beautylish. This might be the "natural set of epic proportions" that Wayne said was coming when he released the Holiday Synthetic Brush Set.
UPDATE: Launches Tues., Jan 14 at 10 am PST.
Wayne announced a synthetic brush collection in association with John Lewis. Wayne describes the synthetic bristles as mimicing goat hair. I noticed in the description that the country of origin is China. The White Collection brushes on John Lewis also had a country origin of China. Rephr's synthetics were made in China, too, so it must have a proprietary synthetic fibre technology there.
Interesting that he's got another synthetic offering. Great reporting/sleuthing @TraceyEB , any reasoning or hints at this turn of events? Because I'm wondering about the re-release of his older brushes... Are they going to be the new synthetic version, and albeit lower in cost (?). Or natural, but cost and availability becoming major factors in how and when...🤔
@danielledanielle, I don't think this release affects the release of the natural hair brushes. I think they may be easier to launch because the synthetics already exist. I saw a description that Wayne selected the White Gold brushes, so I think he selects the synthetics and customizes them. When he launched the White Gold Collection, Wayne mentioned that he partnered with the largest maker of synthetic brushes to deliver quality brushes at affordable prices. With a new management team behind him, I think his launches are more organized. I'm hoping we'll see a holiday natural hair brush release before the holidays. I hope the "copious" reference is a nod to a release that includes the originals. Fingers crossed!!
Beautylish's Black Friday sale is live. Wayne's cosmetics are 50% off and there are the usual blush/highlighter + brush bundles.
And...eeeekkkk! Wayne confirmed that there will be natural hair holiday set, too! 🎅 (He has said he will be releasing his original face and eye sets.)
@TraceyEB, I love him but he's killing me with all the beautiful brushes all at once!! lol I feel like I just told myself I was done for the year with shopping and then I see this. 😲🤣
@itsfi, I always have a placeholder for Wayne's holiday brushes and I'll be directing that investment in the natural hair brushes, as lovely and festive as the synthetic set looks.
A holiday synthetic brush set is coming! In a link on his IG profile, Wayne revealed a boxed set of densely packed synthetic brushes with short red handles. The post includes a video where he describes and demonstrates each brush. Sign up is in his IG bio. Launches November 15 for $85.
Thanks for all the news @TraceyEB ! These look wonderful!! Love the red and the short handles!! So good to be able to know which to grab immediately too!
@Sunnysmom, this set came out of the blue! The brushes sure look festive! Given Wayne's comment about a natural hair brush set of "epic proportions" that is also coming, I'm going to invest there. Definitely something for everyone!
