THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I should have shopped the first day it launched!! 😩 I got my hands on the gloss, a blush duo, and primer. I tried to talk myself out of wanting the foundation now since the color may be off since I still have a slight tan....but new foundation!! Sadly, but in a good way, all the deeper shades are basically sold out everywhere. It sucks since I want it but!!! It clearly shows WOC have a huge demand for shades in our range and actually make up a huge part of the makeup population (population in general). While I'm suffering from FOMO, I'm still happy to see this type of demand👍🏽

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Managed to order 410 just now!!! 💆🏽🤞🏽I sampled 400 and it was a tad too dark/red and 420 was too deep, I think 410 was more yellow even though it says it's for cool/red undertones.

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Would you recommend the primer? Is it a necessary purchase? (to achieve the full look)

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

@richhoneyxx I tried it out yesterday, the primer and sample of the foundation. I think it works really well together. I asked the associates in store if the primer was any good and everyone kept saying it worked very well. The primer isn't drying but it does stay tacky so the foundation adheres to it very well. I like it better than the other ones I've been using lately (hourglass and smashbox).

Has anyone with super pale skin tried the highlighters yet?! On the fence with buying them

Re: RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I'm 170 in the Fenty line. The duos of "Lightning Dust/Crystal Fire" and "Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby" looked great on me. "Metal Moon" is too light for my personal preference but still looked incredible. The shimmer stix in Starstruck also is very pretty on, it comes in the "Match Stix Trio Light 100". I have neutral to cool undertones. Did not try on any of the others on the face. Hopes this helps.

Honestly for me the only thing worth buying is the highlighter wether you are white skin or on the darker side. All my friends bought it and we are all different shades and it looks on either their white skin or on my darker tone.

the primer made my skin oily I didn't like it at all.

RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I'm prettyyy pale (shade 120 in the foundation) and have been using the Lightning dust/fire crystal duo and it is SO nice. Metal moon is also good for pale skins as well and has a little bit of golden specks/shift to it.

RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

What have you guys bought? Should I get the foundation? I have oily t zone while some days the rest of my face is either dry , normal or oily lol.

Re: RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

So far I have purchased the foundation in shade 170, the killawat duo in "Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal," the Match Stix Trio in Light 100, and the foundation brush. I  plan on eventually getting the primer, the Mean Money/Hu$tla Bay duo, the highlight brush, and couple more of the stix.

RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I'm having issues with the foundation oxidizing and just looking bad with my oily t zone after a couple hours/accentuating dry patches

Re: RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I bought...too much. And I want more, since Chile Mango is really calling my name!

Didn't get the foundation since I have one that I love, though I'm impressed that Fenty has the perfect match for my kinda neutral/kinda warm Asian skin.

Re: RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

@arleenxoxo definitely get a sample if you can! This foundation tends to emphasize any dry patches or texture so make sure to prime accordingly.

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I wish sephora would include fenty beauty samples in the play box... that would be amazing

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

That's a great idea! @safisafs

RE: Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

That's an awesome suggestion @safisafs! Or at least make another deluxe Play! Box we can get with all luxe items, I would definitely buy that!

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I might need Trophy Wife!

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Hmm...from most of the reviews I'm reading, the general consensus is that the Fenty Foundation isn't good for dry skin.

Did anyone with pretty dry skin have a good experience with it?

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I have drier skin from acne products. I had never used a matte foundation in the past because of what I heard of with it in combo with dry skin.

My current routine with this foundation is as follows:

Nuetrogena Hydra Gel w/ SPF15

Mix my UD pore perfecting primer with the Smashbox Photo finish primer. (I generally do not us the Smashbox one if I immediately put on lotion, but decided to do both in case I was too dry. The smash box one also does not work great for me on its own, which is why I mixed the primers.)

Then apply the foundation plus all other make up, finish with a setting spray. I found using the UD All Nighter to lock it in, then the NYX Dewy Finish to make it look a little less dry worked really good together.

Then at night after my entire acne routine I rub in Pixi Rose Oil.

I find this foundation only looks bad if I get obnoxiously close to the mirror. Like, nose to glass close. I had one really dry spot it did pick on a few hours into the day, but it looked better on that spot than ANY other foundation has. It wears so well for so long. I strongly recommend getting a sample and trying it yourself. I have been putting this foundation through the ringer for week and I'm really impressed

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

(I have dry skin)

You know it's funny because I wore the primer and foundation for 2 days and while I did not like it, everyone else said it looked great on me lol. To be fair I knew this would be a foundation more geared for oily skin types so I loaded up on the moisture and used 3 different setting sprays lol. You can definitely make it work for you if you have dry skin, but do you really want to go through all that effort?

It's so different than what I am used to working with. It sets really fast so you need to work quickly or it just looks patchy and uneven. It's medium coverage at best with little luck building up so if that's not enough for you this is an easy pass.

It also broke me out.

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

@Mcakes Let's just call a spade a spade shall we?  It's not the foundation that looks great, it's just you 😘
