I’ve really enjoyed Byredo perfumes for a while, but I recently picked up a couple of their lipsticks and wanted to share some swatches. If you are interested in Byredo products, please share your experiences and recommendations!

The metal lipstick packaging is hefty and luxurious. The magnetic tops stay on securely.

The swatches: Top: Red & Blue, a satin finish with cool undertones; Bottom: Red Armchair, a matte finish with warm undertones. They go on smoothly and feel comfortable on the lips but I haven’t really taken them on a test drive yet. And yes, I’m obsessed with red lipsticks!

Carmine is made from the female cochineal bug.

Ok I looked some stuff up @Titian06 . I’ve wondered for a long time obviously with red lipstick too. Considered safe except for allergic issues ( not great) and coming from insects too. (Also not great!) Do you have allergic breakouts from it? Awful if so! Obviously I do not love the insect connection! Sounds like some use synthetic version. Makes good sense!

@Sunnysmom - I'm vegan.  I try to avoid products with animal ingredients.  I definitely don't want bug derived ingredients in my makeup...yuck!  😝

@blackkitty2014 @Sunnysmom, lol. Yes, need. Hahaha! I already made a splurge-y purchase today so it's a little easier to pass on this one, at the moment. It would be nice to see swatches of a few of the shades ... or just to see them up close, in person. 

Byredo is revamping their color collection, phasing out some of their quints.

Fridays are good for that @itsfi ! Handbags? Shoes?! 😃 I don’t think I have any stores to see them in person. Wish I did. Nordstrom online always for my store. Oh that’s interesting about the quints. Some of them could go imho. Lol

I’ve never gotten any of the biggies @blackkitty2014 . Is the formula different? I only have the grey smoky one I think. I think. Lol. This will be tricky to resist @itsfi . Look at all these amazing shades! Waaaah!

The new Liquid Matte in Marriage. Boy this is a stunner. It feels very smooth and one swipe was perfect. No adjusting.  Almost dries down completely but not quite. Zero tack or sticky. I ate and drank coffee and it left an even amount of color, no smearing. You can move it around with your finger a bit but it holds , is super smooth and is not dry at ALL.  So comfy!  Sorry for messy swatch but I left it to show the stain. 😊 Reminds me a little of past Chanel liquid lips but way better. It’s basically like the matte version of Byredo Liquid Vinyl and I prefer this matte version. Gorgeous! 

@WinglessOne you need to try this if you haven’t yet. A little less vibrant/intense, less drying version of our beloved Violette_FR. As always , almost impossible to tell how beautiful the shades are online. @blackkitty2014

These are a good formula and feel @Titian06 ! I used a bit of balm underneath it today just to see how it performed and it stayed on so well. Both ways were comfy!

@Sunnysmom - I checked the ingredients and was thrilled to see there is no carmine or beeswax.  I will pick this up once I break my no buy. 😁
