Love this color! Hate to see it fade!!

I'm so obsessed with this red red hair color but it fades so fast! Can someone please help me with any tips for keeping this color from washing down the drain so quickly? I'm not sure if there is really anything more that I can be doing that I'm not already but I would LOVE some feedback!! I use permanent color every 4-6 weeks. when I wash my hair it's once every 3 days using cold water. I alternate between using color-locking zero sulfate shampoo and conditioner and color depositing shampoo and conditioner. I use a semi-permanent conditioning color refresh about every 2 weeks or half way between permanent coloring. I worked in a salon for about 2 years so I have a solid handle on basic color knowledge but I just feel like there is something more that I might be leaving out of my process?

@Jessielynne42, @bonjourcupcake, When I'm red, I use Caleb Luxury Gemlites in Ruby every other wash to keep my hair red.  It may not keep it that exact color but it keeps it bright!  I get a lot of compliments and it makes me look younger than I am.  I purchased it at my salon but you can get it online.

I came here looking for the same answer. There has to be a holy grail product out there that helps maintain a vibrant red longer! Love your color by the way. Would you mind sharing the names of the products in your routine?

your color is very pretty! I was close to the same shade you are until I accidentally purchased L'Oreal HiColor Hilights instead of the normal HiColor 😖 I was crayon red for a few days before I could redo my hair 🤣

yes I can share! i get everything I need from Sally beauty supply stores and if you don't have one close anyone can order everything on-line! I color my self using "L'Oreal HiColor Reds" for dark hair in RED. I use "Ion after-color sealer" directly after coloring then alternate between Ion shampoo and sealer and "Quantum Riveting Reds" color depositing shampoo and conditioner. I've changed my mid-way between color process a little. I'm now using "Colorful Protein Color Filler" in #10 red red about 2 weeks after coloring. I've found that a protein fill works better than a semi-perm color refresh and it really helps to keep the color much more consistent throughout the hair. And #1 most important tip is to keep warm water away from your hair! I only use cold water to wash and rinse! I hope this helps! I know that red is so high maintenance but it's just such a beautiful color and makes a statement for sure 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
