Dyson

considering getting the dyson blow dryer. Is it really worth it?

Re: Dyson

@Lauraenigma  If you mean dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Black , I love mine for these reasons:

  • Dries my kinky coily hair in half the time it usually takes other dryers*
  • Controlled heat settings: I don't worry about frying my hair
  • Reduces frizz
  • Lightweight and compact
  • No more hair getting sucked into the back of a dryer
  • A bit quieter than other dryers (but it's not silent)

*I mainly use the diffuser attachment on dryers, so it normally takes a loooooong time to dry the low porosity sections of my hair. The Supersonic is speedy!

If you're in the US and have an Ulta account, I recommend banking points to use toward the Supersonic and waiting for an Ulta 20% coupon that works on Dyson. (Most of those coupons exclude Dyson, but if you catch one that doesn't, take advantage!) I bought my Supersonic from Ulta using a 20% coupon + the max amount of banked points one can use in a single purchase. That knocked the price down to around $65 USD (before taxes). I also got cash back on that purchase via Rakuten, so I saved even a bit more money. 🙂 And if you make this purchase during your birth month, you'll get double Ulta points on your out-of-pocket spend.

Spoiler
Last year, I bought a relative a Supersonic from Ulta during December, my birth month. Rakuten was at 12% cash back for Ulta at the time. Between discounts, points used, cash back, and double points earned, my total out-of-pocket spend was under $50 USD. So, it pays to plan out your Supersonic purchase!

Also, if you're a member of Nordstrom's rewards program (Nordy Club) and you've got banked notes, you can use 'em on a Supersonic. I've been a member for years but, for me, Ulta was the better option. I might change my mind about that come Black Friday and wish I'd held off a bit longer. 😄

Re: Dyson

Do you mean the one with all the differents heads or the one that sucks the hair into curls??

Personally i dont believe theyre blow dryers are that special, they flex theyre technology but then who really cares???

Unless you would want it because its considered a luxuous product, but still imo its stupidly way too expensive.

I like the idea of the suck the hair into curl one tho (idk what else to call it Lol), but still, its just crazy expensive, just like theyre vaccuums.

Its your choice if you decide to splurge, but if i was you, i would make sure to be able to return it in case you wouldnt really like it, because at that price, a return option should be available!
