I'm attempting to transition away from bleaching my hair right up to the hairline and it's grown out around 3-4 inches since I stopped in December(as seen in the pic). My natural hair color is a medium brown with a hint of red from being descended from two generations of redheads. I saw a stylist today for a consultation but she was very pushy and kept trying to sell me the most expensive conditioner in the store/implying that having red tones in my hair was my fault from bad coloring. Is there an easy and foolproof way to soften the root line at home so I don't have to go back to the salon? Definitely not going back to see her.
