What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? Smiley Very Happy

Re: What's on your plate?

I like your nachos!

Re: What's on your plate?

Can I come watch the Superbowl at your place next year? Smiley Very Happy

Re: What's on your plate?

Sure weeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Pull up a chair.

Re: What's on your plate?

This was a leftover type meal. I had an avocado and some salsa left over from the Super Bowl. So I made some guacamole and served that and the salsa with some broiled wild salmon. The skin on the salmon was crisp enough to eat. I served celery sticks for dipping but forgot that I had bought a cucumber for this. So now I have to incorporate the cucumber into a future lunch or dinner. LOL

I was feeling goofy so made a guacamole "snowman."

Re: What's on your plate?

So, after looking at photos of all the healthy meals and finally reading completely through the original post, I see that my Christmas cookie tray was totally out of line here. Smiley Very Happy Just tattoo that big "L" on my forehead!

Re: What's on your plate?

Jozkid, I totally disagree! Whatever the intention of this post, it has morphed into whatever people are eating. And that most definitely means desserts too!

I like looking at whatever people are eating. Most definitely cookies. MMMMMMMMMM

Re: What's on your plate?

That is the cutest guacamole snowman! That looks like such a healthy and delicious dinner!

Re: What's on your plate?

Ohhh, you guys! I've found them pics of my avocado chocolate pudding experiment! Now I only need to find the recipe, as well. Smiley Very Happy It was something very simple...

Yummy! I need some avocados right meow! ( Btw, I hate avocados. Smiley Very Happy )

Re: What's on your plate?

Does it have a slight green tint to it, or is that my monitor? I'm sure it was good..

Re: What's on your plate?

I don't remember it having green tint to it... Maybe it's just lighting, photos, who knows what... But, then... It was some time ago, and I don't really remember such details, so I can't really confirm anything...  I'll let you know after I make it again. Why you ask? You no like lil green sumtin sumtin in your chocolate? Smiley Very Happy

Re: What's on your plate?

Ooo ooo ooo, please do share once you find the recipe!

Re: What's on your plate?

Tonight...

Homemade chicken broth with rice farina+oat bran dumplings ( gluten free re-creation of my mom's wheat semolina dumplings that I absolutely love, and so friggin much!... and miss dearly... Darn you gluten! Why you hate me so much?! ). I like to add some chicken liver into these dumplings when I have some on hand. That makes the dumplings even more yummy.

Aaaand, this. Smiley Happy I love to smother everything with bacon, so, yeah.... YUMMMM! ( I'm crazy 'bout asparagus, too! )

Re: What's on your plate?

Very yummy looking!

Re: What's on your plate?

That GIF may be the official GIF of this thread! Mmmmm bacon asparagus!

Re: What's on your plate?

Agreed..

You should add him to your intro!!

Re: What's on your plate?

Tonight we had cube steak with mushrooms and broccoli.

Cube steak sort of bores me so I made a crust for it (kind of like chicken fried steak). Steak was dipped in a mix of bold A-1 sauce and coconut milk, then dipped in ground seasoned pork rinds, cashew meal and flaxseed. The steak was sauteed in butter and olive oil with the mushrooms and served on a sauce of bold A-1 sauce mixed with sugar-free orange marmalade and sugar-free BBQ sauce. I drizzled some roasted pistachio oil on top of the steamed broccoli.

Re: What's on your plate?

My mouth is drooling Smiley Tongue

Re: What's on your plate?

Keep the broccoli, but I'd gladly clean out the rest of it! Yum!

Re: What's on your plate?

That looks delicious, DiVWA! It's like a healthier version of Chicken Fried Steak which is seriously one of my favorite dishes. I only have it like once a year though because I have to watch my red meat intake. So yummy though!

Re: What's on your plate?

Sorry, I was way too hungry to take some better, and fancier pics. But, I promise you this is friggin delicious! Potato moussaka ( with ground pork ). XXXL moussaka. Smiley Very Happy

I don't eat this often, but when I do... I stuff myself with it like there's no tomorrow! Smiley Very Happy Love. it!

Re: What's on your plate?

Yummy! I love moussaka!

Re: What's on your plate?

Me too, it doesn't exist here in the south that I have seen.

Re: What's on your plate?

Those layers O_O

Looks delish!

Re: What's on your plate?

For lunch it was soba noodles in broth with chicken and cilantro dumplings (from Costco):

My bf normally likes to pan fry them, but I don't trust myself to use a wok like he does. I have an irrational fear that I'll somehow fling all the food in a wok all over my kitchen (floors, walls, ceiling, etc.). Smiley Tongue

I ave a slice of carrot cake for dessert. Tonight I'm doing something with salmon (probably spice it up and blacken it in a pan) and beef tips.
