Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄
@CorgiMommy Thanks- it actually was. The eggs were “picked” the day before at a local farm.
Good luck with your diet @Ispend2much6 💪 Your omelette looks gooood.
@CynthieLu Thank you! It’s tough to get used to but after 2-3 weeks the change in cravings, etc is incredible.
It's alot of discipline in the beginning I imagine @Ispend2much6 but sooo worth it. I'm so impressed!
For real, I would love to not crave sugar so much. 😭
@CynthieLu I’ve always loved carbs, even though they seem bad for my particular set of health issues. Haven’t had a sweet tooth until the past couple of years (hormone changes.)
But I’m telling you the truth when I say after two weeks I could not even drink a Coke with a meal. They tasted weird. I didn’t crave sweets at all, and carb cravings went down too.
But the best part was that I felt so serene. Even my hairdresser noticed a difference. Ni more mood swings to coincide with the blood sugar swings.
I was a little too excited for that cup of decaf and forgot something.
Ooooh noooo @Ispend2much6 😭 I've forgotten the cup before too. It happens to the best of us. ☕ I hope you got yourself a good cup of joe after dealing with that.
@CynthieLu Thanks ! Peet’s dark roast decaf is the best, honestly.
@Ispend2much6 whoops! 😅 Maybe it's a sign that you need the caffeinated version 😉.
@CookieGirl1 It’s always a tough choice- do I want better sleep or more efficiency or a better personality?
Can I just say- autocorrect is crap? I had “efficiency” show as a suggestion, chose it, and “African” was inserted? I never even type the word “African.”
@Ispend2much6 oh no! You may need fully caffeinated LOL.
InaGarten’s Tuscan chicken recipe. I can’t recommend it enough.
How does a piece of marinated chicken become crispy when baked???
@Ispend2much6 looks delicious. Love Ina 💕. Her memoir "Be Ready When the Luck Happens" is really good.
@AMK721 Yay! I have all of her cookbooks but haven’t read her memoir. Thanks for the recommendation!
What are some of your favorite recipes of hers?
@Ispend2much6 I have most of her cookbooks too. I like that her recipes are straightforward and easy to follow. My favorites are her chicken salad and hands off risotto. How about you? What are your favorites?
@AMK721 I’ve used her BF Contessa parties book a lot. Her shortbread dough is a favorite for making thumbprint cookies.
I love her turkey meatloaf. Italian Wedding Soup is a pretty good version.
Looks like I need to try her Israeli salad- yum!
With skill 🤌 @Ispend2much6 that looks great! I bet it was tasty. I having chicken tonight too. Small world, lol. 😄
@CynthieLu How did you make your chicken?
This recipe made a lot of extra juice when the chicken baked- it was nice to pour onto the chicken (after the crispy skin was eaten, of course.)
Oh it's nothing special @Ispend2much6 baked with whatever sauce we feel like, BBQ etc.. or Shake n' Bake. 😄
