Hopefully we can get this to be popular because its such a helpful idea. We all spend so much on mediocre products. Lets share the rare amazing product that truly works and goes above and beyond.
I had to share. I have thicker, coarse, frizzy, damaged, naturally curly hair thats been breaking and falling out for years. Knots up in the shower and requires two conditionings to get it to un knot.
I started using the living proof restore conditioner. It stopped most of the fall out, smoothed out the damage, brought back a healthy look and sheen i havent seen in years and has literally taken years of damage off in 3 uses, so just over a week.
Also, im excessively oily. So oily every hour after i wash my face i can fill up 2 to 4 large blotting sheets. Glamglow volcasmic mattifys my skin so much that im barely oily 16 hours later and my makeup is still on my face so its an amazing mattifying primer for makeup that doesnt dry out because its a moisturizer. Its amazing.
I also have cystic acne and enlarged pores and light smile lines around my eyes. Im 27. Nothing helped and ive spent thousands at sephora trying everything. Finally bought the foreo luna 2 oily and my cysts are almost gone and so is my acne in just over a week with twice daily use. Nothing has ever done that for me.
I use with my normal skincare. Clinique acne bar soap by hand to wash off makeup, Clinique facial soap oily skin wash with the foreo, then first aid beauty facial polish which has always helped with my acne a bit.
Its helped so much i can use drunk elephant c firma to shrink pores and plump skin without a big break out and that stuff really works. So out of 11k spent in 2 years these are my holy grail, blow me out of the water products. What are yours?
Fun!! I am 34 and oily with brown hair and eyes, medium light skin.
In the order I use almost everyday.
1. IT Cosmetics brow pencil in universal taupe.
2. Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye pallet.
3. Becca undereye brightening corrector.
4. Loreal Infallable Pro Glow concealer.
5. Givenchy prism libre loose powder in mousseline pastel for setting the undereye and around the nose.
6. Tarte Amazonian Clay full coverage airbrush foundation in light medium neutral.
7. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends Powder 30 Sunkissed.
8. Nars Orgasm blush.
9. Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Skin Twinkle Highlight pallet.
10. Loreal Lash Paradise.
I love this thread. I'm 40, have combo skin, and fine, pseudo-wavy hair. I'm transitioning into some new products (hence the real lack of acids/serums/moisturizers here). I also try hard to buy cruelty-free. Some of these aren't that, but these are the things that'll leave me needing extra therapy if they're discontinued. (In no particular order.)
1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer
2. Tom Ford White Patchouli (I wouldn't normally list a fragrance, but never in my life have I found a more perfect fragrance fit for myself, and that's saying something.)
3. Make Up Forever Smoky Extravagant Mascara
4. Framesi Be Yourself Wio Straight Balm
5. Hayadi Hair Relief Mask (*I don't use it as a mask, but with a quick rinse, it's the best conditioner I've ever used.)
6. N.4 High Performance Hair Care Lumiere d'hiver
7. NARS The Multiple in Orgasm
8. Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial
9. Aveda Petal Essence Eye Definer in Cacao
10. 365 Maximum Moisture Body Lotion
About me
Skin Color: Fair
Skin Type: Combo-->Oily
Age:28
In no Particular order except #1
#1 Shiseido Cleansing Massage Brush. At the end of the day my Rid or die isn't what I have on my face but how I take it off. I have owned many of these over the last 12+ years and I love this brush. It makes my skin glow and using it again is helping my skin clear up and firm up. Who doesn't love that?
2: It Costmetics CC Cream
3: Stila Heavens Hue Highlighter in Kitten
4: Hourglass 1.5mm Liner
5: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
6: Algenist REVEAL Luminizing Drops in Pearl
7: Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paint (don't make me choose just one)
8: Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light
9: Tarte Gel Foundation (Found at Ulta)
10: Carmex lipbalm
Age: 20 Skin: Combination and super acne-prone
1. Imperialis - Lush: For someone who hates the feeling of something on their skin, this moisturizer is great. It absorbs fast and feels lightweight but still keeps my face from drying out halfway through the day.
2. Teint Idole Liquid Foundation - Lancôme: Comes in a great range of colours, doesn't melt off my face in the summer, and has great coverage.
3. Correcting Concealer - BareMinerals: The best full-coverage concealer I've used, and it doesn't feel cakey or thick on my face which is great.
4. Contour Palette - e.l.f Cosmetics: Simple and inexpensive! I use the cool-toned shade for contouring.
5. Love Light Prismatic Highlighter - Too Faced: I love a highlight that pops and the Ray of Light shade is perfect!
6. Dipbrow Pomade - Anastasia Beverly Hills: I know there's a ton of hype for this product but it lives up to it! It's waterproof after drying, but easy to work with while you're applying it. My only wish is that they had a less warm-toned Chocolate shade; it doesn't quite fit my brow colour but I made do.
7. Agave Lip Mask - BITE Beauty: This stuff tastes and smells so good. It's a little thick but not sticky and the tinted shades have a nice shimmer.
8. STYLOGRAPHIC Micro Thin Felt Liner - Sephora Collection: Using this is super easy and it doesn't skip like a lot of felt liners tend to do. The application is nice and smooth.
9. Eyeshadow - Urban Decay: Relish is a gorgeous shade; there aren't a lot of true red eyeshadows out there and this is the best I've found.
10. Glazen Eye Gloss - Butter London: It has the consistency of jello which is a little weird, but the shimmer payoff is worth the slightly sticky feel that it has until it dries(which doesn't take long).

Ooh lovely thread idea! I'll try to do this in order of application too
1. The Ordinary Rose Hip Oil - This is a true HG status product. Works wonderfully on my combo skin
2. Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - I always thought I loved silicone primers until I found this. It's such an amazing primer!
3. Koh Gen Do Aqua Luminous Foundation - in particular, shade 213..the perfect olive shade for light skin!
4. By Terry Hyaluronic Powder - I just want to know where this was my whole life. As a chronic smiler, I figured I was doomed to smile lines in my foundation. This powder puts all that to a screeching halt!
5. Caudalie Beauty Elixir - the only product I've ever used that actually minimizes pores instantly
6. Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette - I love this palette so ridiculously much. I think it's priced so well too..all those gorgeous glitters PLUS mattes for $65??
7. Viseart Matte eyeshadow - legit the best mattes ever. If I only had this palette plus the Huda, I could make every eyeshadow look i want
8. Peter Thomas Roth Un-wrinkle Eye - this really seems to make a difference in my undereye area. I'm generally convinced eye creams aren't a necessity, but this stands out from the rest
9. Ren Glycol-lactic radiance mask - this product changed my skin from super dry to normal!
10. Farmacy Sleep Tight - I loooove this night cream so much. It's thick and not for people who dislike feeling moisturizer on. But if you're dry skinned, I swear by it
Love this thread idea! It's definitely hard to pick a top 10 from all categories including makeup, skincare, etc, but let's give this a whirl. Trying to go in order of how I do my face, so I don't forget anything.
Background: 21yo; combo, sensitive, acne-prone skin; olive around NC 25-30
1. Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb + Drunk Elephant Marula Oil - Yeah it's item #1 and I'm already cheating... but although both of these products are wonderful on their own, they are particularly wonderful mixed with each other. I have been trying out the Aqua Bomb moisturizer mixed with a couple other oils/oil serums, but have yet to use any of those combos for long enough to give an opinion.
2. My Beauty Diary Sheet Masks - Tons of scent options, super hydrating, and I can pick them up in boxes of 10 at my local Asian supermarket for a great price.
3. Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Fluide, 03N - This is perfect for me both in terms of formula and shade match. Definitely recommend for my fellow olives to see if they can find a match in this line. The finish is super natural, lightweight, very skin-like, neither too dewy nor too matte. My preferred method of application is using the next item on this HG list:
4. Sephora PRO Brush #56
5. MAC #217
6. Urban Decay Primer Potion
7. Marc Jacobs O!Mega Mascara - Not if you like a SUPER dramatic look, but I find this beautiful, natural, and effortless.
8. NARS Crystal Light Reflecting Translucent Setting Powder - (I probably screwed up that mouthful of a name but anyhow) This is the only setting/finishing powder I own, and I've used it faithfully for four years and barely managed to put a dent in this. It's a setting powder but has slight finishing/blurring effects, doesn't look cakey, and doesn't have flashback in photos.
9. Maybelline BabyLips - the OG line only; I tried their Dr. Rescue line and HATED it with the burning passion of a thousand fiery suns. Their Cherry Red shade is my hands-down go-to for an easy but flattering lip look. I've also really liked their lemon-scented/yellow/basically clear balm.
10. Bite Amuse Bouche Lipsticks - One of the best bullet lipstick formulas ever. So so so comfortable and the lemon scent is divine. Some of these wear better than others (Gazpacho and Verbena last through meals for me, but I've had some trouble with Beetroot wearing significantly off in the middle of a meal) but the shade selection is wonderful and it's generally worth the annoyance of possibly having to reapply.
Age 42
Skin; light, prone to redness and a few clogged pores but mostly notify normal.
Drunk Elephant Day Firma Vitamin C lotion
YSL Beige Tribute #10 Rouge pur Couture lipstick
Charlotte Tilbury air blushed
flawless finished powder
Givenchy Prisme Visage Perfecting Face Powder
Kevyn Aucoin Neo Limelight Highlighter
Erborian Yuza Double Lotion
Sol de Janeiro Brazikian Kiss Lip Butter
Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector
L'Oréal Brow Stylist Definer (I am thinking switching this is out for something else though and going with slightly less dark eyebrows. It's a great product though!)On
