Olaplex No.3PLUS Complete Bond Repair Pre-Shampoo Hair Treatment apologies if this was shated earlier.   I'm curious what the actual difference is...and wondering if this version is in response to Olaplex drama.

Interesting, @greeneyedgirl107! I’m in the middle of a bottle of the last version. I’ll use it up by next month so I’d like to try this next. K18 is still my favorite bond treatment but it’s so expensive, even when I can find the jumbo size on sale.

@curlychiquita I wanted to let you know about my experience with Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Treatment.   I used it once about 3 weeks ago, and it was the best my ends looked in some time.  My hair felt soft, but also coated if that makes any sense.   I'm looking forward to trying it again. 

I'm wanting to try K18, but keep being afraid I'll mess it up.  How do you like to use it?

I’m happy the Acidic Bonding Concentrate worked well for you, @greeneyedgirl107! I like the K18 but the price is so high, I don’t use it that often. I use it after I shampoo, put it on towel dried hair, wait 5 minutes, then I do condition and rinse out. Sometimes I’ll use conditioner and then do the k18 after, wait 4 minutes, then add my curl cream. I can’t forgo the conditioner, though.

@greeneyedgirl107 My hair is very coarse. It’s to my shoulders dry but to my bra strap wet.  So I use more pumps than average. Usually 7 or 8 pumps on towel dried hair.

@danielledanielle  Ah, I wondered if those were all repeat shades when I recognized a few of the names & colors. (I haven’t investigated at all.) Since they’re all existing shades, these quads would be more useful if they were magnetic and refillable. Doesn’t look like they are, from what I saw on the brand’s own product page. 🫤

Then again, nothing’s stopping anyone from creating a custom quad (using your own magnetic palette) with shades from midi or full size ND palettes with removable pans, so… I guess the quad draw is mostly full size pans vs. midi size pans, for folks who have several ND palettes? For ND newbies or anyone who has just one or two midi/full palettes, the quads make more sense. I’m not drawn to any of the quad color stories so they’re an easy pass for me, plus I’d rather create my own customized travel ND palette anyway or pack a mini palette.
