Hey all you cool cats and kittens, welcome to YEAR 6 of the Pan It Challenge!
The "Rules"
To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections. For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.

Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:
Ideas to Help You Pan Those Items:
Past Panning Challenges:
I didn’t want to pick to many so I would have this an attainable goal. I have picked the OUAI Mini Hair Oil 0.45 oz/ 13 mL I like it but I have some that are better. So I need to use this up so I can move forward with the better ones. I’ve been repurposing this as a body oil so I hope to continue and use this up. Olaplex No. 3 Hair Repair Perfector while this use to be my fav. I have found a better one that works in less time. So I would like to use up all these bottles so I can start using a better product! the ordinary alpha lipoic acid I don’t mind it but I am not using acids as much anymore so I would love to finish this bottle. And BHA again not using as many acids so I would love to finish this one too.
Yes to hair care and panning @ather! 😊 It feels so good to use up what we have. I'm with you on using acids less frequently. Even last summer, I didn't use them as often as I once did and my skin did better.
@itsfi Same here. I feel like they got super popular for a bit. But my skin is happiest with less.
I agree @ather. My skin used to be able to handle more frequent use of acids but I've been more of a minimalist when it comes to my skincare routine over the last few years. I still have routines that have a few more products than the basics, but the extras primarily consists of serums, oils, and hydrating / soothing / mositurizing masks. I have a few peels and exfoliating products I keep on hand but not as many as before. I know everyone's skin varies so folks who can handle acids more frequently, more power to them - there's some great acid based products available these days; but my skin, like yours, responds better to less. There's enough other factors that contribute to my skin being aggravated or damaged (hello, winter winds and cool temps, and yes, hello maskne!).
@Samtian Thank you! I know it’s usually more makeup related but I need to work through hair care 🤣
@ather Haha I hear ya! I never touch that category, I need to.
Good choices @ather good luck in all your pan it goals this year! 😄
@ather great pan! it's always extra satisfying when you're making room to use things you enjoy more - it feels like something extra to look forward to 🙂
@cianni I agree. It’s a good excuse to use it up!!
Fabulous products to pan, @ather!! Yay for setting attainable goals!!
I love that FAB mask!! It's my favorite reset nourishing one.
@haleyvvvv I love it too. But I find it’s so big it’s hard for me to get through the whole tube in a year especially with all my other masks. I will definitely buy it again if I can get a smaller size!
Aaah, that makes sense. I got small ones from Ipsy, @ather.
@ather Okay now I need to know what's replaced the Olaplex and the Ouai? I have both and like them okay, but they aren't the 'miracle workers' that I had hoped.
@missjeanie i felt the same way about the Olaplex 3 specifically - went through a couple bottles after it had been recommended to me so many times. it was fine (if anything it made my hair really dry) but did not live up to the hype. i have the K18 @ather mentioned that i havent tried yet (this is great motivation to do so), as well as an Olaplex No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Hair Mask 3.3 oz/ 100 mL that i also havent tried yet. it has mixed reviews so i'm not super sure about it yet
@cianni I also used the olaplex 8 and I do like it but for me K18 did everything that both did for me. No need to use multiple products!
@ather it's SO nice when the product lineup can be streamlined! thanks for the info 🙂 i'm thinking the K18 was more up my alley anyways - i've had luck with other products in the line, whereas Olaplex in general has been hit or miss for me (i've tried 3, 4, 5 and the 4-in-1 moisture mask, and i really only find results with the moisture mask(
@missjeanie JVN Complete Nourishing Hair Oil Shine Drops 1.7 oz/ 50 mL replaced the Ouai oil it doesn’t make my hair has weighed down. I have thin hair so if the oil is too heavy it doesn’t work well for me. The Ouai was good but the JVN is way better in my opinion! And K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Mini Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask 0.5 oz/ 15 mL had replaced the Olaplex. The olaplex you need to apply the 3 and then leave in for 10 minutes and wash and condition as usual and the K18 you wash and jump out and put the leave in conditioner in your hair. I’ve used it 3 times and I feel like it has changed my hair so much. Plus the less time spent waiting for the conditioner to set the better for me. My husband is going away for 6 months so I’ll be single parenting so an easier routine is better for me since I have no family to help when he’s away!!
@ather Nice! I've got the K18 but haven't tried it yet. I'm hoping to finish off a few shower bottles before I crack into it. I like the idea of less time wasted and condensed products for sure.
Good luck @ather ! I have tried to stop buying so many backups because I find something better and then it’s hard to use it up when I know there is something better.
