To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections. For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.
Getting Started(please share the following)
Which item(s) you would like to work on
How long you will work on said item
Goal: explore a new item, revisit an old item, decide whether to keep pass or trash, and/or completely finish item, etc.

Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:
Take photos!!When you think you aren’t making a dent in anything look back at those photos, I’m certain you’ll see some changes😃*this is the number one recommendation for everyone, regardless of how long you’ve been panning! Those photos add up and can help you realize progress you might otherwise overlook.
If you goal is to hit pan or use something up entirely, try concentrating your brush/applicator in the same area each time you use it
Multitask your products: eyeshadows as highlighter, lipstick as blush, eyeshadow as brow powder, etc.
Layer eyeshadow to create different colors (this is especially helpful to get use out of shades you’re not fond of).
Have shadows with a ton of fall out?Use water
Watching the progress of others’ can be fun but try not compare your progress to theirs. We all use our makeup differently and have different goals.
Don’t restrict yourself to only using the item(s) you are working on.It’s more than OK to incorporate other items or take a break!
Makeup should be fun….if you begin to dread doing your makeup because you made a commitment to use a product that you now hate, TOSS IT!Do not force yourself to use up something you don’t like.Move on to something else! (This includes excluding particular shades from your goals if focusing on palettes, etc.)
After some serious hemming and hawwing over what to to with the tarte Paaarty blush, I've finally come to a decision. @heartsmyface suggested turning the powder into a cream blush or a lip gloss. I thought about splitting the broken blush into two piles and making both a cream blush and a lip gloss. Then reality set in - I'm not going to reach for it as a cream blush despite really liking that idea. But a lip gloss, or a lip product?! Ohhh, I'm more likely to not only reach for it, but to make progress on using it up. There it is, decision made.Thank you to everyone who offered up suggestions - so many great ideas that I've made notes of.Thank you, hearts!
And here are the before and after photos. Going to add this one to my 2023 project pan as well. Seems fitting since the actual tarte Paaarty blush was part of my first panning project.
Tinted Lip Balm DIY: The Before
Tinted Lip Balm DIY: The After
Goal: use it up! I'm holding onto the pan for the blush; I hope to be able to post it later this year in the empties thread when I work through this diy tinted lip balm.
It really came out beautifully @missjeanie! 😃 I used a mini Laneige lip sleeping mask, in the mint choco flavor. The tinted balm smells deliciously of mint chocolate. I wouldn’t say “no” to a lip balm right now - so cold and my lips are dry practically all the time - and I definitely won’t say “no” to this diy tinted lip balm! 😝
Funny you say that @itsfi ... I need another tinted balm like a hole in the head... but I happened to notice that you'd reviewed the new SC tinted balms ( I knew it was you as soon as I saw the photo!)... Have you tried the new Lawless ones yet? Curious which of those two you'd prefer?
Who me? Tried the new Lawless?? Ummm, what would make you think such a thing @missjeanie ?! 🤣 Both are nice; the Sephora Collection has more of a traditional tinted lip balm consistency. The Lawless feels more like a oil-balm hybrid. Both can be built up but the Lawless is much more sheet; the Sephora Collection has deeper, richer pigmentation. The color range of the Lawless lean more MLBB where the shade range for the Sephora Collection has more nude colors. Of the two, my preference is for the SEPHORA COLLECTION Sheer Matte Lip Balm.
Of course you have to grab at least 2 @missjeanie! At least 2. What better way to make sure the line is solid and it’s not just one color that is good. At least 2. 😂
@caitbird, I try to repurpose my stuff if I can, unless it breaks me out, and even then, I'll try to use it on another part of my body, if I can. I feel like I have to at least try to repurpose it.
