Ok so I've been wanting to make this thread for a while. I've also been wanting to start a "random thoughts" thread...but I figured I'd separate the categories so that at least the "beauty" one is on the front page, rather than hidden in off topic. So, have a beauty-related thought but don't think it's worth starting a thread about ? Post it here !
today I got a facial at an extraordinarily nice spa. A real treat. And the results were immediate and truly great. But guys: she pulled out a clarisonic and a foamy cleanser for that first initial cleanse, and I nearly had a heart attack. Great for a lot of people but most of you know how I feel about those things !!!!!! Overall, as I said, it was great and my skin is happy. But sheesh.

RANDOM BEAUTY FACTS ABOUT YOU THREAD !

She mentioned she was "just getting into this stuff", and thought if I was an expert I could recommend other items for her to try so I'm not sure if she knew how easy it is to pick up an addiction lol
Last time I was at Lush the SA gave me sample of the Olive Branch shower gel even though I told her I'm very well stocked on Rose Jam (I bought 4 bottles last year and I still have a new one as a back up). It's been sitting there next to my sink so I decided to clean the sink with it. I just love how my bathroom smells now 🙂
What's the saying "Waste not Want not" 🙂 Did it clean your sink well?
Yeah it did! 🙂
lol!
I have long, wavy auburn hair and haven't had bangs since I was about 7. But I really like the look of them and am thinking about going for it after my wedding (24th of this month!!!) Before I pass the point of no return, any advise from someone who has been there/done that?
I love my bangs. I also have a choppier look going on, and they're cut in layers for more shape/volume, which I think really helps (although my gair is more straight than wavy, so that might not work for you).
There was a time when I had to wash my bangs every day, but then I discovered the miracle of dry shampoo, and really haven't had to since. Sometimes I do have to wet them down and blow-dry in the morning if I sleep on them funny, but that's for shape not oil, and it takes less than 30 seconds.
I like bangs until I remember the pain of growing them out....
Do it! I have wavy hair too - I can't really wear my bangs wash and go but it takes less than 60 seconds to dry them. And if my bangs look good, it looks like I've done my hair, which is a plus!
I also have long wavy hair (not auburn though 🙂 ) and have bangs - I love them! I frequently get compliments on them as well. I prefer a slightly choppy look rather than blunt bangs, with them slightly longer toward the edge of my face, but this fits my face shape the best. The only thing I don't love is the maintenance…they usually grow out in 5-ish weeks, so I have to visit my hairdresser if I want them trimmed properly (or try to do it myself, which sometimes works and sometimes looks disastrous). I also have to wash mine every day to keep from looking greasy, but I have managed to find a way to just wash them and not the rest of my hair everyday so it works.
Would love to see photos if you get it done!
Do it! I don't have your hair type but I just chopped mine recently and I'm loving them. And if you don't, hey, they're easy to pin back and grow back out.
Edited: I feel bad about posting such a random, somber, personal thing. Thanks for the well wishes, all. It really helps.
