Working Towards Wellness: October 2025

Hey there, BIC! I don't know about you, but sometimes, little moments of self-care sprinkled throughout the hustle-and-bustle of my day-to-day can have a meaningful impact. That's one of the reasons that lead me to put together these wellness boards; another was to add a layer of fun to self-care. If this sounds like something you might benefit from or if you're just interested in seeing how it goes, jump on in if, when and how you like.

More detailed information for wellness bingo can be found in the links below, but essentially, if you undertake a self-care activity described in one of the squares, you can mark off that square. Get 5 in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally and you've got BINGO! 🎉 If you're up for sharing what you did for any of your wellness activities, please feel free to do so. 
 
Remember, be safe when engaging in the activities described, taking into consideration the condition of your self and surroundings (i.e., location, weather, your ability to perform the activities) and consult with a professional, including your health care professional, if and as needed. Make any adjustments or skip an activity, if and as needed.

I was trying right up until Friday night!

 the pearls were my squares from the last half of the month.

-prioritize myself— I said no to a work trip for next week. I normally go on 95% of the trips I’m asked, but with just moving and feeling like I don’t have the house sorted, I felt like I needed to stay in town to get some stuff finished up here before the snow flies.

- work on joy. I can not tell you guys how much fun I had handing out candy to trick-or-treaters from my new place. I’m moving into town from a farm in the country. I never got any trick or treaters the last decade or so. Seeing all the little ones dressed up made me so happy!

-prioritize sleep— I’ve been working on this with my doc off and on the last two years. I made sure for a solid 5 days to take all of the tips he’s given me and apply them. A lot of them do not fit my lifestyle, but I made it a priority. 
-practice gratitude— I made up little treats for the team I work with daily for Halloween and to say thanks. A little candy, a little beauty, a little coffee card. They’re all pretty great people who don’t get enough credit. 
- fall fun— I raked up 16 big bags of leaves last week. That wasn’t fun. But jumping in the pile for a solid half hour… that was fun. 
- try or do something new - I learned how to change a kitchen faucet last week! I hope I won’t need to again, but I learned how this time instead of just pass it off to my gentleman who already knows all this stuff.

Last report of the month. I was trying to reach 5 more squares but fell short with 3. It’s a progress. I need to try harder on digital detox in November 😘

Absolutely right @blackkitty2014, progress - that's 3 more than you had before! And you got another BINGO in as well! Woohoo!

The digital detox one can be challenging, the 30 minutes isn't easier especially if it's not something you're used to doing. We're so accustomed to reaching for our phones or using them or other electronics for so many things. It's not a bad thing per se. Love your perspective on it for next month! You got this.
